CLOSED SECTIONS 'ARE DESCRIBED BY FOREST SERVICE Closures In the Rogue River National Forest were described today by Karl L. Janouch, for est supervisor, in anticipation of increased travel in the fore3t with the availability of gasoline. The closures cover only very limited areas and are as follows: Ashland Creek watershed, which includes the Ashland loop road from Ashland to Siskiyou Peak. Woodruff Meadows area above Prospect, but the Wood ruff road and summer home area are open. A small area tast of the Cra ter Lake Highway above Union Creek which includes Copeland and Bybee Creeks. BIu Rock Road Open The Medford Corporation log ging area in the Butte Falls dis trict, extending south from Lodgepole guard station to Snowshoe Camp, including the Twincheria drainage. The road through this area to Blue Rock Is open. The Deadwood area on the Dead Indian road, extending from the south Forest boundary north to the South Fork of Little Butte Creek. The Beaver Dam camp is closed but the South Butte camp is just outside the closed area. Travel is permitted on the Dead Indian road and the Deadwood-Fish Lake road. There are no restrictions to travel in other parts of the for est. Camp fire permits are re quired for camping In other than improved campgrounds. Smoking while travelling on other than paved or surfaced highways is prohibited. Boarding House Life Film Theme t: 10 CHAPEL SERVICES D. E. Millard, B.S.L., LL.D., builder of the "Chapel of the Rocks and Roses," at South Oak dale and King streets, will con duct rejular preaching services in the chapel each Sunday at 10:45 a. m. The services, Dr. Mil- ' .-v D. E. Millard lard says, "will be strictly non- denominational and will follow the line of modern, constructive and scientific thinking. No ap peals for money will be made, and all who have an open mind, like to think, and love truth, are most cordially invited.". Dr. Mil lard's subject for Sunday will be, "A New Heaven and a New Earth." A feature of the services will be special musical numbers furnished by the Millard family and guest soloists. When "Swing Hostess" opens at the Rialto theatre Sunday, au diences will have the curtains drown on the theatrical boarding house and be permitted to peer behind the scenes Into the lives of the people who make audi ences laugh, cry and keep them pleasantly amused. Mrs. Turney and the Turney's two children will remain in Medford. Rev. Turney And Episcopal Young Going to Session The Rev. George R. Turney, rector of St. Mark's Episcopal church, will leave Medford Sun day afternoon for Gearhart, Ore., where he will serve as dean of the annual summer ses sion of church school for young people of the Episcopal church. Also attending the 10-day ses sion this year will be five repre sentatives from Medford, Ward Eebb, Jr.. Gordon Marx, Trevc Neff, Susan Inskeep, and Kath leen Seekatz. Shipyard officials said the steamship Chelsea Victory was delivered by Oregon Shipbuild ing Corporation to the war ship ping administration and AlasKa Steamship Company at 7:15 p. m Tuesday, only 3 hours 15 min utes after President Truman's peace declaration. MORE BRITISH GAS London, Aug. 17 (U.P.) Brit ain's basic gasoline ration for the next three months has been increased 25 per cent. The in crease will raise motorists' monthly mileage from 120 to 150. . Portland, Ore.. Aug. 17 (U.R) The No. 1 domestic issue in the immediate months ahead is full employment, Senator Wayne Morse of Oregon said today. He declared that leaders of both the major political parties should forget partisanship and achieve unity on employment, taxation, industry reallocation and the other economic policies which must be adopted to main tain the American system of political and economic demo cracy. "We must make our private enterprise economy work In a manner that will solve the prob lem of achieving full employ ment and of maintaining a high standard of living for all Amer icans and not just for some few," he stated. Thus he followed the example set by Japanese War Minister Gen. Korechika Anami, who committed hari-kiri in Tokyo yesterday to "atone for his fail ure" to win the war. He shot himself with a revol ver rather than using the tradi tional hari-kiri method of sui cide by disembowelment with a dagger. Friday.
