T' ALL TO W USE SAYS GERL1NGER Portland, Ore., July 12 (U.R) George Gerllnger, Portland, pre sident of the National Lumber Manufacturers' association took Issue with government officials today who have promised lum ber for farm and home building In the remaining months of 1945. Gerlinger said that military 'nd direct war lumber require ments alone will take 80 per cent of the west coast production In the next three months. "Lumber manufacturers would f like nothing better than to make large quantities of this critical material available to home' and farm builders at once to help the conversion period ahead," Ger linger stated, "but our first obli gation is to the military services and today lumber is the most critical of all war materials and a shortage might easily hinder if not actually delay our attack on Japan. He said .that demands for lumber for an attack on the Japanese mainland are consum ing the bulk erf west coast pro duction, which is the largest chare of natural production.
