July 8 U.R Present Truman today signed legislation granting an average basic salary increase of $400 a year to the 300,000 postal em ployes. It is the first basic pay raise the postal employees have had since 1925. The increases gen erally are in line with the "lit tle steel" formula limiting war time wage increases. The act will raise the total basic pay-roll for postal work ers by about $150,000,000 a year The postal employees received a temporary war-time increase of $300 a year each, but this tem porary raise now will be can celled. The new rates are retro active to July 1. JAP ADMIRALS DIE San Francisco, July 6 (U.R) The Domei news agency today reported the deaths of four more Japanese admirals. The dis patch, recorded by the FCC, said that the deaths were announced by the Sasebo naval station. The men were Vice Admiral Katsukl- yo Shinoda and Rear Admirals Gosaburo Noguichi, Uroku Rash imoto and Kirezo Yamauchl.
