But the doctor is now uncertain how to present himself to the profession and the public, Just what to call his speciality. He asks for my ODinion. Besides conducting such gen eral examinations as you de scribe, this special field of prac tice, whether it is designated as Personal Health or Preventive Medicine or Prophylaxis and the practitioner a prophylactist, would naturally include immun izing against epidemic diseases, nutritional problems, personal hygiene, determination of fitness for marriage and advice to patients contemplating marriage or divorce, determination of which, if either, partner is re sponsible for childlessness, deal ing with abnormalities or defici encies of development or growth in Infants, young children and youths of 'teen age. Paul Atkins With the 32d Infantry Division In Northern Luzon. P. I. Prl, vate Paul E. Atkins, son of Mr. George W. Atkins, Route 1, Med ford. Ore,, has been assigned to the 32d "Red Arrow" Infantry Division. . In the service since Oct. 1944, Atkins trained ' at Camp Wolters, Tex., before shipping to the Philippines. The infantry. men in this unit have seen ac tion in six major engagements in the past thirty-seven months and hold the Distinguished Unit Badge for their performance in the bloody Buna Battle. His wife, Mrs. Mamie N. At- kins; and children, Douglas and Janice, live with the soldier's parents. ' Roy L. DeFlulter Aboard a Heavy Cruiser In the Western Pacific Roy L. De Fluiter, coxwain, USN, whose wife lives at 40 Quince St., Med ford Ore., had added a star to his Asiatic-Pacific ribbon for participating in the bombard ment and invasion of Iwo Jima aboard this ship. USNR, of Medford, Ore gon, is now stationed with the Shio Repair Unit which is in training at the Puget Sound Navy Yard in Bremerton, Wash Ington. His wife, Frances, and children Lea Rae, 8, Linda Lee 5. and Lou Ann, 4. live at 529 East Main in Medford. . Lt. Ruth Reed Lt. J-g ) Ruth M. Reed, Supply Corps, USNR, is the first woman to graduate from the Quarter master Subsistence School, 1819 West Pershing Road, Chicago, Illinois. In civil life Lt. Reed was a dietitian at St. Luke's hospital in San Francisco, Calif. Her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Reed, live at 328 Edwards street, Med ford. She is a graduate 'of Ore gon State college and Johns Hop kins hospital where she majored in nutrition and dietetics. Cpl. Bicycling Stunt Proves Too Much For Man Aged 73 Eugene, Ore., June 27. (U.R) Funeral services were held here today for William S. Camp bell, 73, who died in a vain attempt to repeat a feat he had accomplished 50 years ago on his 23rd birthday. While bicycling from Eugene to Independence after having come from Eugene the day be fore, Campbell collapsed on the roadside, dying a few moments later. The 73-year-old man was found dead by motorists along a main highway leading to Eugene lying beside his bicycle only a few miles from his goal. ' In Hopeh, the office of war information, overseas branch re ported today, the Japanese war reports go like this: "Japanese capture San Fran ciscomarch on ' Washington and New York."
