HOMECOMING IKE GETS HUG, KISS 1,83 Kansas City, Mo., June 21. (U.PJ General of the Army Dwight D. Eisenhower received a home coming son's welcome today, a hug and a kiss from his 83-year-old mother, Mrs. Ida Stover Eisenhower. The general's five starred plane eased onto the runway of the municipal airport at 12:16 p. m. (CWT) after circling the field and coming in to land from the southwest. It taxied back from the northern end to near the TWA building. As the big ship rolled to a stop, motorcars carrying mem bers of the general's family drove up. Eisenhower saluted as he stepped out, then grinned broadly as he spied his mother. "Hello mom," he called out. "How are you feeling?" "The same old way, son," she replied as she hugged him to her bosom and smothered him with kisses. To his wife, Mrs. Mamie Eisen hower, Ike called out: "Hello, darling. I'm sure glad to see you again." Mr. Lewis was born in Corning, Calif., on June 6, 1885. On January 16, 1915, he was married here to Miss Vira Hend erson. Left to mourn his pass ing are his wife of Central Point, and one daughter, Mrs. Mona Stone, of San Francisco; two sisters. Annette Munder and Nena Perl, both of Los Angeles; one brother, Armlne Lewis, of Martinez, Calif., and one grand child. Funeral Services will be held at the Perl Funeral Home Mon day at 2 p. m. Long have returned to Med ford after spending the past sev eral months in East Texas, Kan sas and Indiana with relatives. Mr. Long reports that the states they, visited experienced a very wet spring and that business con ditions were fair. Returning, the Longs stopped in Vancouver, Wash., to see their son-in-law, Sgt. Jack Sparlin of Medford who is undergoing treatment at Barnes General hospital for wounds received in Germany. The Longs reside at 324 Plum street. mm Chips Christian Church Plans Discussed Stffl members of the First Christian church daily vacation Bible school met Tuesday at the home of the Rev. and Mrs. D. D. Daniels and future plans of the church school were discussed. Mrs. Daniels and Mrs. Claude Cooper, co-hostess, served re freshments. Sunday a demonstration and exhibit of class work completed by students of the vacation school was held at the church for parents and friends. Closing day of the school last Friday was marked with a picnic in Llthia park, Ashland, with swimming at Twin Plunges. About 150 attended.
