The estrangement came this week after several clashes between the odd pair. The kitten would not eat the barnyard worms the hen scratched up. The old fowl kept its foster-charge warm beneath her wings, while it lived on a diet of warm milk. When the kitten is a little older It will join the other Offenbacher cats in the barn and granary and go in training to become a mouser.
