Army corps for the past 10 months, is at Gardona on the shores of Lake Garcia, a letter to her mother, Mrs. Frances Mc Conochle, 1015 West Twelfth street, states. Pfc. Sherwood was on combat duty as a tele phone operator in the closing days of the war and wrote that she worked "right up among the pillboxes."
