Horse Killed Norval Smith, Eagle Point, reported to state police that one of bis horses had been shot and killed. Police said they had been unable to find any trace of the person doing the shooting. ' Chamber To Meet Tonight's meeting of the Medford Junior Chamber of Commerce will be held in the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce building if it rains tonight, chamber of ficials said today. If weather permits, members are to report to the high school field lor sou- ball practice. The hamburger feed, scheduled for the home of Gerald Latham, 819 Park street, will be held at the Chamber building in event of rain. Many Meat Sellers Fail to Register With Ration Board Many farmers who sell meat have failed to register with the local price and ration board under the new meat program, L. L. Ternahan, secretary, stated yesterday. The secretary point ed out that under the new pro gram, all farmers who sell or transfer meat must register and receive a slaughter's permit from the local board. Previously the permits were issued by the War Food admin istrationk but this has been' dis continued and new permits must be obtained.
