EIGHT MEDFOBD MAIL TRIBUNE Your Health and It's Care By OR. WILLIAM BRADY. M.O. Readers should address Inquiries toi Dr. William Brady. 265 El Camlno Bararly Hllli. Calif. THE BAB A reader says her baby is two years and four months old and the shoe salesman told her the baby's feet are flat and need ed arch sup ports. Th kr'ftiA salesman ha h, 41 some archsuj sup ports made by vj sy a s hoe-maKer to his specifi cations and told her to be sure the baby if, wore them iTrli-'IT JT constantly. Dr. Brady sound silly; Doesn't it If the reader had taken the bab, to a clothing shop to get a coat, and the saleswoman had found that the baby iiad spinal curvature, would the gullible mother have permitted the sales woman to have a spinal brace made to her specifications, for the baby to wear constantly? Having invested in the profes sional services of the shoe clerk and the arch props made to his specifications the prodigal moth er took time out to think a bit. She decided to consult no, in deed, not this mother. What, consult a physician, with all that cash burning a hole in her pock ctbook? She consulted two phy sicians. The idea being to check on No. 1 with No. 2's diagnosis, opinion or advice. It is the meth od a lot of Wiseacres use. - The first doctor, she continues examined the baby's t eet, told her there was nothing wrong with them, advised her to dis card the arch supports and, when she bought shoes for the baby, to select soft flexible ox- .fords instead of high shoes or footwear of any kind that is rigid or stiff under the feet or serves as a bandage or support around the ankles (as do the tight uppers of high shoes or boots). ' The doctor suggested some simple exercises to strengthen the baby's feet. The baby thinks the exercises great fun. That would be enough' for you and me but who are we to raise an eyebrow or shake a head at the extravagances of the upper classes? but there is still the second doctor to entertain us. The second doctor said the ba by's feet were all right, but he gave the customer her money's worth by disagreeing with the the first doctor about th. type of shoes. He sort of took the wind out of the lady do's sales by as serting that all children should Chalker't Motel A Lodga OFFICERS' CLUB Dlne-Dsnce Refreshments Chicken and Steak Dinners elnsi Unique nice in Bit ore CLOSED MONDAVI Thunders Prleace Parties Only, for reserveaUAns Ph Gnld UIU 414 ATTENTION BUILDERS CONTRACTORS tor your convenlenct, wa of fer a new , , .
