Cbrby re turned to this country several weeks ago after an extended pe riod of service in the Pacific area, and was then reassigned to an army post at St Louis, Mo. Unit To Meet "Making the Home More Livable" will be the topic for the meeting of the Phoenix Extension unit sched uled for Friday, May 18, at the home of Mrs. L. C. Taylor. Wharton, 1134 West 9th street arrived in Medford yesterday on a delay en route from the radio techni cian school, Treasure Island, Cel., to a destroyer fleet He is visiting at tha family home and expects to leave May 22. Whar ton also visited his brother and sister-in-law, Lt. and Mrs. S. T. Wharton, who left yesterday for Mineral Wells, Tex., where the officer is stationed with the army. Charles Wharton graduat ed from the radio school with high honors, rating fourth high est in a class of 185 men. He graduated from Medford high school last year, where he was president of the Torch Honor society. Discharged Three Jackson county men received honorable discharges from the armed forces recently and reported to Jackson county board No. 2. Miles R. Brownrtgg received a discharge from the naval hospi tal. Mare Island, Cal., April 27, after serving overseas one year and three months. James Rosen berger, Ashland, was discharged April 30, at the separation cen ter, Camp Beale, Calif. Rosen berger served overseas in the European, African and Middle Eastern theater.
