, fWO MEDFORD MAIL THIBUNH Mighty Beavers Extend League Lead to 5 Games By United Press Pnrtlanri'i mitrhtv Beavers had a five-game lead in the Pa cific Coast League today, Din even their hometown upporters must admit that Manager Marv Owen's men have waxed fat at the expense of the lowly Holly wood Stars. The two clubs already have met 14 times this season with 11 decisions going to the Beavers. They maintained their mastery over the basement-dwellers yes terday by annexing both ends of a doubleheadcr before 10,000 dis appointed Hollywood fans, 7-6, and 10-0. This gave Portland the series, six games to one. The Oakland Acorns climbed into second place by downing the Seattle Kalniers twice, 12-2 and 6-1, before an overflow au dience of 11,000 at Oakland.
