EIGHT MEDFORD MAIL TRIBUNE Your Health and It's Care Br OR. WILLIAM BRADY M.D. Renders ibould eddreu Inquiries toi Or William Brady. 263 El Camino Beverly Hilli. Calif. DON'T WATCH It has been profitable as well as entertaining reading these past IS years. I have learned a good deal from f v your articles, not Just about health alone but many oth- er things. Vet In spite of your lambent style I fair m anpHnl Dr. Brady delight In be ing perverse and unconventional Upon as many questions as possi ble? For Instance In one lesson you ridicule the Idea of watch ing one'r diet, and then In an other lesn (the one about "Yan kee Stomach") you saw It occurs whenever people are unwise about their eating and drinking and careless about their diges tion. Well? (T. L. H.) You have me at a disadvant age, but not in a dellmma. Had you quoted enough from the ar ticle about "Yankee Stomach' you would have realized there Is no Inconsistency there, for as I went on to explain. -people are careless about their digestion particularly that part of diges tion that goes on (a) in the mouth during mastication and (b) in the stomach for. half an hour or more after the food is swallowed If the food has been well chewed Just between ourselves and not for publication I confess my dear colleague, that In run ning all over the place as I do. sometimes I meet what seems to be myself coming, and I have to duck down the nearest dark alley to avoid the clash. Call it what you will. I main tain it is silly and even mis chievous to "watch your diet" or "watch your digestion" or "watch your bowels" or "watch your temperature" or "watch your pulse" In the sense In which most wiseacres take the morbid suggestion. And I am equally certain that It would re dound greatly to the betterment of health, happiness and longe vity if the so-called "educated" class could learn enough elemen On the Radio Chain a I A I I U l Chain affiliation and where tne are nil (Its dial. - HAI.K (LI18I me. H., even as I toss these epithets to prod and irritate you into some sort of reaction. For all your smug complacency you are as guillible as the missions of other Wiseacres in Yankceland And speaking of saving your teeth, may I ask rhetorically, of course, and with little expecta tion of getting an answer, just what, if anything, YOUR den tist has done about saving your teeth aside from making such repairs as you reluctantly seek and grudgingly pay for when you can't limp along without them? Dentists are absurdly squeam ish about their legal right to use the title "Doctor" (which no one can dispute), but at the same time they seldom live up to the title, which means teacher, when young people with neglected teeth come under their care. Trouble with the dentists Is they are too gullible and the shrewd business men who exploit them want to keep them so, QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS Piles What do you advise af treatment (or plies In the early stage? (U.R) Thomas Otis, 70, explained to police today before he died of self administered poison that the Bible allotted man three score years and ten and he thought that was plenty. E TARGET IN PLAINT Chicago, April 13. (U.R) Montgomery Ward and Co., offi cials today awaited a report from the army in reply to com pany charges that army offi cers controlling two of its seized properties were guilty of mis conduct. Harold L. Pearson, vice presl dent and treasurer of Wards, de manded yesterday that the army take Immediate action to "pro tect the Ward properties at San Rafael, Calif., and Jamaica, N. Y. In a letter to Ma. Gen. Joseph W. Byron, army manager of the seized properties, Pearson said army operations at the two stores had impaired employe morale, interfered with service to customers ind exposed the company to financial loss. Pearson said the company had affidavits to prove that some of ie controlling army officers "forced attentions on female em ployes In a manner destructie to store morale." He accused several of the officers at San Rafael of drunkenness and of entertaining girls In the store. "Affidavits covering many other instances of reported mis conduct could not be obtained because the witnesses have hus bands or sons in the army and fear retaliation," Pearson added Closing time for Sunday Too Late to classify a 3D Saturday anernoon Please remember LEGAL NOTICES The school directors of Dis trict No. 4.
