Webber, 319 Laurel street, after having completed "boot" training at the Great Lakes Naval Training station in Chicago. He leaves Sunday to report back to the station for reassignment to a base for training as an aerial gunner.' His brother, Ensign R. B. Webber, recently sailed for duty overseas. Car Thieves Caught With Aid of Planes Pontic, Mich., CU.R) Air borne wonders of the post-war world were a sour prospect to three 16-year-oldvDetroit youths after they had been trailed by an airplane as they fled in a stolen automobile. They stole the car, which be longed to Kenneth Barber, from the airport, and Barber saw them leaving. He Jumped in a car for the pursuit, and two of his in structors went aloft In planes and followed the stolen car easily, enabling Barber to keep on the trail. Wolf, charged with sec ond degree murder, was filed by the district attorney yesterday. Wolf Is charged with the mur der of Percy H. Ijames, during a sidewalk altercation at Gold Hill last February 4. The defense demurrer, filed by Attorney Don R. Newbury, contends the Indictment should be more specific in designating the death weapon, Instead of the phrase "sharp instrument." Workers In Rocket Plants To Observe Own Curfew Rules Camden, Ark., (U.R) While the nation still talked about the recently-invoked midnight cur few on amusement places, con struction workers at the big na val ordnance plant here began observing their own curfew rules. The curfew for daytime work ers living In hutments on the plant grounds is S p. m., while Protection Specialists keep a con tinual 24-hour patrol throughout the area to keep down noises that might disturb day sleepers who work on the night shifts. Camden city officialp reported that when the curfew role went Into effect, scores of professional gamblers, who had come into the city to prey on the workers, dis appeared, while a large number of beer parlors and "honky tonks" that had sprung up along the hlghrays near the plant closed up because of lack of business. Lone Pine School Schedules Spring Music Show Friday Annual spring concert of the Lone Pine school will be held at Roxy Ann Grange hall Friday night at 8 o'clock. Music pupils from Howard school, Griffin Creek school and Oak Grove school will assist with the pro gram. The girls' glee club, under direction of Mrs. Virginia Lu man, will present several num bers. The orchestra, under direc tion of Edward C. Root, will pre sent nine numbers. Blake Mad dox will play a violin solo and Mary Jo True will present two piano solos. A cornet solo by Carlene Mark and accordion solos by Charlotte Grlgsby will make up part of the program. Aluminum Freight Cars Tested For Post-War Period Mt. Vernon, 111. U.RV T h e old-fashioned boxcar has been streamlined. Three freight cars made entirely of aluminum have been built, for the first time any where, by the Mt. Vernon Car Manufacturing Co. The new cars are made of the same material formerly used for kitchen utensils and now being used for aircraft production They are exactly the same shape and size and have the same ca pacity as the old cars. The slm ilarlty is Just that, however, and nothing more. The aluminum cars require no paint except the usual markings giving the name of the railroad and the car's load limit and safety Instructions. Weighing 8,000 pounds less than the old type of car, the aluminum struct ure permits engines to take on a greater load. The boxcar Job was taken on by the Mt.
