Central Point, foreman, as sembled this morning (or in vestigation of a number of pend ing criminal matters including the case of Fred Wolf, charged with the knife slaying early last February of Percy H. Ijames, as the climax of a sidewalk brawl at Gold Hill. Three Gold Hill residents and two police officers have been summoned as wit nesses. The district attorney's of fice anticipated the session would be brief. The petit Jury Is not expected to be called for some time for trial duty. Circuit Judge Herbert K. Hanna will be busy most of the coming month attending to the mass of routine matters which accumulated during his illness. Until the return of Coun ty Judge Cdleman, expected the middle of April, Judge Hanna has the added duties of the pro bate and Juvenile courts. Holiness, and 8 p. m. GRANDSON KILLED IN LUZON, WOMAN HEARS Prospect. March 23 Second Lieutenant William O. Goodlow was killed In action, Jan. 8, over Luzon, according to official word received here by his grand mother, Mrs. Ed Hollenbeak, who Drevlously had been Inform ed that he was missing in action. Lieut. Goodlow was co-pilot on a B-24 bomber on a mission over Luzon and, according to Infor mation received, the plane was damaged by flak. Eight of the ten members of the cre-.v were seen to parachute from the flam- me Diane, which went into a shallow dive and crashed. It is presumed that some of the crew members have rejoined Amer ican forces on Luzon, and brought word that Goodlow was not among the eight men who escaped. Lieut. .Goodlow's wife, the former Lucia Brltton of Rose- burg, is now serving as a cor poral In the Women s Reserve of the U. S. Marine Corps. His mother, Mrs. Florence Goodlow, of Roseburg, spent several days here at the Hollenbeak home, af ter receiving the word of her son's death.
