The biggest dollars in the world From a long, long bombing strike, weary airmen return. On . an island dot In the Pacific, a Red Cross girl greets them with lemonade and a smile. That smile is something money won't buy. At a Red Cross blood bank, a father bares his arm. Almost certainly his gift of blood will save the life of somebody's son. That's something money won't buy. So H goos with all the ac tivities of the American Red Cross . , , scattered over the earth ,. . quite too many to count To millions of boys in uniform they mean things that money won't buy. Yet the Red Cross runs on money. Right now, it's asking us all to chip in at least 200 miC lion dollars "must" expenses for another year. The Red Cross runs on money because it, too, must pay the rent and buy groceries. Money gets that Red Cross girl to her sunbaked atoll. Money sets up that blood bank. Money makes possible the machinerj by which the Red Cross carries to our fighting men the things money won't buy. ' Your gift-from-the-pocket makes possible til those gifts-from-tne-heart which are tha everlasting core of Red Cross the sacrifice of women vol unteers in thousands who are often ready to drop but never cuit...the service of those paid Red Cross workers whose total performance is so far beyond the call of duty. ..those gifts in real blood and real sweat so numerous their donors could form an organization called 'Americans Anonymous. Your gift of dollars makes possible these other gifts of things money won't buy. Those gifts of things money won't buy make your Red Cross dollars thi biggest dollars in the world.
