Recovering Robert Gilstrap, 35 Geneva street, is recovering from severe bruises and cuts suf fered Monday night when his automobile left the highway about two miles north of Gold Hill. Gilstrap was thrown from the car which turned over. Pruett, Route 2, arrived home Sunday for a three-day leave af ter graduating from gunners' school and flight training at Mir ami, Fla. The twins also com pleted courses in radio school at Memphis, Tenn. They will leave Wednesday for San Diego from where they will be assigned to another base. . . Enlisted Rolen W. Rose crans, son of Mrs. Gertrude Rose crans, Flute 1, Gold Hill, was enlisted in the United States navy last week through the Med ford recruiting station accord ing to an announcement from Portland. Young Rpsecrans was sworn in and returned home on inactive duty to await transfer to training camp in San Diego. Calif. Rosecrans attended Gold Hill high school and Is well known in that vicinity. Gen. C. W. Cabell, who serves with Col. Storey. And here's what the colonel said: "Gen. Cabell and I were In Jerusalem on a Sunday and decided to go to the Church of Nativity for a morning mass with several other officers in our party. We sat through the ser vice with a few other GIs and a group of long-bearded monks dressed in loin cloths. As we started to leave when the cere monies were over, we passed a group of the .monks sitting in the rear of the' church. From the middle of the group one lanky monk emerged and greet ed us by waving his hand. Then with that unmistakable drawl, he queried, 'Any of you folks from Texas?' " When the officers recovered from their amazement, they learned that the monk formerly lived in west Texas, near EI Paso, and had lone to the Holy Land on a pilgrimage 20 years ago and decided to stay there, MAMOULIAN MARRIES New York, Feb. 28 (U.R) Rouben Mamoulian, 47, screen director, revealed today that he and Mrs. Azadia Newman, Washington socialite, were se cretly married February 12, at Peekskill, N. Y. It was a first marriage for Mamoulian, whose romance with Greta Garbo made headlines a decade ago. Mrs. Mamoulian, a distant cou sin of the Duchess of Windsor, has been wed twice before.
