Gordon Ashcraft returned to his Ashland home at 217 Fourth street last week after an honor able discharge from the station hospital at Los -Angeles Port of Embarkation, Torrance, Calif. in January. Ashcraft enlisted in January 41 at Vancouver Bar racks, Wash. He was engaged in the battle of Fedala in French Morocco in November '42, the Tunisian campaign in May '42 the Sicilian campaign in July '43, and Italian campaign from September through November '43. He left the states in October '42, arriving in the African Mid dle East theater in November, and returned in March '44. He was a visitor in Medford Satur day. THURSDAY LAST DAY TO PURCHASE DOG LICENSE Thursday, March 1, is final day for the purchase of 1945 dog licenses, at the regular fee of $1, irrespective of sex. Start ing Friday, March 2, a penalty will be imposed. Dog licenses issued up to last Saturday by the county clerk totalled 3,001, and it is figured only 1,000 dogs remain unli censed, or their license has not yet been reported. Last year's record shows approximately 4,000 dogs in the county.
