Traffic Accident An army owned vehicle driven by Robert F. Hood, Camp White soldier, was involved In a minor acci dent Thursday on Highway 66 about 10 miles east of Ashland when the driver slowed down to avoid hitting an animal and was subsequently struck from the rear by a truck operated by Don Roberts, Klamath Fall, an acci dent r-port stated. Amount of damage was not stated, but neither driver was reported in jured. Joins WAVES Mrs. June Younger recently joined the waves and Is now stationed at Hunter College, New York. Mrs. Younger Is the widow of First Lt. Donald Younger who died in action in France last fall. For the past three months Mrs. Younger has been making her home with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Klncaid of Glendale, Calif., former Butte Falls resi dents. The lieutenant was a son of Mrs. Lillian Younger, 316 South Peach street. Husband Promoted Mrs. Les lie L. McCue received word this week that her husband has been promoted to the rank of captain. Captain McCue is a chaplain assigned to the Sth armored en gineer battalion, 3rd army,. and. went overseas last August. He has been In the army about 18 months and was a minister in Chicago for 15 years previously Mrs. McCue is making her home with her father and mother, Mr and Mrs. E. E. Scott, at Central Point during her husband's ab sence. Needham Here Dr. Paul Needham, biologist of the Ore gon State lame commission, was a Medford visitor Tuesday spending the day on official busi ness with game commission em ployees In the Rogue River area Dr.-Needham, for mahy years S government scientist in the fed eral fish and wild life service resigned to accent his present position several months ago. Harden, 827 South Holly street, returned to Medford Wednesday from a three weeks trip to the east coast. He stopped at Ottawa, 111., for a brief visit with his mother on the return Journey before proceeding to Los An geles and Medford. Return From South Mrs. J. H. McAllister and daughter, Mrs. Donald Mills, returned to their home at 817 West 10th street early this week from LeesvUla. La., where First Lt Mills was stationed. He was promoted to captain before departing for assignment in the European theater, they state. Mrs. Mills has been away from Medford about nine months. Returning here in their car, they visited in San Diego before arriving Tuesday. e Rentals Needed Persons hav Ing rooms, apartments or other housing accommodations for service personnel and their fam ilies are requested to notify the Riverside USO, Miss Bernice O'Denny, club director announc ed today. This may be done by phoning the club, 7131, she said, whera they will be registered. The club is receiving a number of inquiries for housing from new military personnel, and the cooperation of local people is urgently needed, the director asserted. OBITUARY LULU DUSENBERRY Services for Mrs, Lulu Dueen berry, 65, wife of S. A. Dusen berry, Gold Hill, who passed away in Portland Thursday, will be held In the Conger-Morris Chapel 2:30 Monday, with inter ment in Gold Hill cemetery.
