Car Wreck Automobiles driven by Howard Dunlap, Med ford, and Nolan Clark of Butte Falls, were involved in an acci dent about midnight Wednesday on North Bartlett street accord ing to reports on file today. Visitor Leaves Joe McMa- hon, well known southern Ore gon peace officer for many years, left Medford today for his home In Beaverton after spend ing a few days here on business. McMahon left here in 1926 and is engaged in the real estate business in Beaverton. He re newed acquaintances with many former friends while here. Miss Swearingen was a patient for several months at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester and is re ported much improved in health. Miss Coffeen was with Miss Swearingen In Rochester for a time and also visited relatives in Iowa. VETERAN BENEFIT BILLS GIVEN HOUSE APPROVAL Salem, Ore., Feb. 20.-j(U.R) Two bills relating to veterans benefits passed the house with little controversy todav. The bills (HBs"227 and 342) would permit savings and loan companies to make loans to ser vicemen, and would call for em ployment preference for them in public employment. OBITUARY ALTA NAYLOR Alts Naylor, a pioneer resi dent of Medford, having been born here Nov. 23, 1861, passed away at her home, 302 S. Grape street, Monday afternoon. She was an expert seamstress and was alteration lady for many years for two of the largest ladies' ready to wear firms in San Francisco and Seattle. She has been retired for the past seven years. Survivors Include one niece. Mrs. Abbie Bailey. Merrill. Ore, and a brother-in-law, Gordon Sschermerhorn, Medford, and a great niece, Arlene Brown. Funeral services will be con ducted from the Perl Funeral Home Saturday at 2 p. m.. the Rev. Louis C. STANSBIE Mary Elizabeth Stansbie, a resident of southern Oregon for the past 40 years, her home be ing at Fifth and Laurel Streets, in Central Point, passed away at a local hospital Tuesday morn ing. Mrs. Stansbie was born at Springfield, 111., April 23, 1856. She was active until the last and took a keen Interest in affairs and especially her numerous friends. Her husband, Robert Stansbie passed away Jan. 1. 1920. She is survived by one sister-in-law. Mrs. Lettie L. Stansbie, of Medford. Funeral services will be con ducted from the Perl Funeral Home Thursday at 3:30 p. m with the Rev. Delbert Cays, pa tor of the Central Point Chris tian church, officiating.
