Burgess will re port back to Tampa for assign ment to .a crew for overseas training. Reports For Duty Cpl. Jos eph L. Duffey has reported for duty at the air technical service command, Wright Field, Day- A ton, O., according to a release from the field. Wright Field is the air forces' engineering, pro- - curement, maintenance and sup ply center. Cpl. Duffey's home address is 219 Cottage street, Medford. e Navy Visitor Floyd H. House, CEM, U. S. navy, is vis iting his wife and son at their residence 842 East Main street on a 13-day leave. House, who was with the telephone company for several years, has been in the navy for a year. Cook has .returned to her home on route 4 from Chico, v Calif., where her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Anderson Brooks, passed away January 27. The late Mrs. Brooks was born in Jackson county November 22, 186S, and lived in the county many years. She . was buried January 30 in Chico, where she had lived for the past seven years. She is survived also by a grandaughter, Mrs. Ray Crum ley, and two great grandchil dren. Donna Mae and James Ray mond Crumley, also of route 4 Other relatives include three brothers and two sisters in Cali fornia and a sister in Portland. Larson Leaves Garrell L. Larson left last night for Camp Farragut, Ida., after spending five days here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Larson, 303 North Holly street, and other relatives. Larson just completed his "boot" training at Farragut. Hera From Modesto Ransom Webster, SClc, Is here this week from the U. S. navy aux iliary air station at Modesto, Calif., visiting his wife and his father, W. O. Webster, at 135 Vancouver. He has been in the navy for two and a half years, and graduated from Medford High school several years ago. Webster previously managed the Roxy Ann Confectionary business here. Stedman Here Second Lt. Bob Stedman is in Medford to visit his wife and daughter at the family home, 225 South Oakdale avenue, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Stedman, Phoenix. Lt. Stedman has just completed training at the army engineer officer candidate school at Ft. Belvoir, Va. He formerly was an English instructor and dramatic coach at Medford sen ior high school.
