On Furlough Staff Sergeant Harry E.'Hoxie plans to leave Medford tonight after a fur lough of several days here with his wife at their home 407 King street. He is stationed at North Camp Hood Texas and entered the army in September 1940. . In Accident Barbara Yocum, aged 17, of route 4 was involved in a minor automobile accident Monday morning when her ve hicle collided with one operated by J. W. Casad, route 1, at South Oakdale and Monroe street intersection a report on file stated. Tucker, CEM, navy, returned from 30 months service in' the South Pacific at a shore station a few days ago and is visiting his wife at their home, 2233 Aloha, until Feb. 6. He will report to Camp Parks near San Francisco for duty on conclusion of his leave. Tucker was well known here and In Southern Oregon prior to entering the navy, having spent most of his life in this area. Warning! Paul Pence left Friday for the army air field at Long Beach, Calif.,, after spend ing a 10-day furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mlnnus Pence of Central Point. Pfc. Pence was accompanied north by his wife. Pence spent 18 months In Iceland and while on duty there graduated from an army school for cooks and bakers. .Traffic Accident Rov Wart. low, lllOVi East 11th street, said in an accident report on me mat ne backed up and struck a parked car about 20 feet south of 13th street Mon day morning, driven by E. E. Clark, of '528 Pearl street. Wad low was operating a City of Medford water truck the report stated but only minor damage occurred he said. From Washington 1st Lt. Kramer Deuel arrived from Portland last Thursday for a short visit with his mother Mrs. F. K. Deuel at the familv home. iuib south Oakdale. He is sta tioned in Washington, D. C, with the corps of engineers, hav ing entered the service about two years ago. This is his first visit to Medford in three vears. Lt. Deuel plans to leave here inaay before reporting back to the capital. He was an attor ney here prior to entering the service. Dunagan Home Eugene Dun- agan, MM2c, arrived in Med ford Saturday by air from New York City and is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Dunagan, 412 West Jackson boulevard. He will be here un til January 22. Dungan, who has been in the navy since Julv of 1943, wears four campaign rib bons. Crew member of a trans port, Dunagan has been to Ice land, Italy, France, England and maae one trip tnrough the Pan ama canal and into South Pacif ic waters. Mrs. Loeffler Returns Mrs. A. J. Bulkin of route 1 was approaching the railroad crossing at West Main street Monday morning in his automo bile when his 3 Vi -year-old child shouted that the door on her side was open. Bulkin, having already stopped and shifted into second gear, quickly slammed it shut and went on into .high gear when he saw the Rogue River train approaching, he told in a traffic report filed today. He stepped on the gas to move for ward across the track to avoid what might nave been a serious accident. The train engine struck the rear left fender and body of his car he said, causing only minor damage according to his report of the mishap. Train and auto mobile were proceeding at a slow rate of speed the report stated. Southern Pacific officials did not state the amount of damage if any to the train's engine. Livestock Portland. Ore..
