GINGER RETURNS IN TECHNICOLOR HIT HERETODAY Ray Milland, Warner Baxter, Support Star "Naughty Marietta" at Rialto. Medford's "neighbor," Ginger Sogers and Ray Milland, who haven't been seen on the screen together since their hilarious comedy, "The Major and the Minor," have been reunited by Paramount for one of its biggest productions of this or any other year ' Lady in the Dark," Based upon the play by Moss Hart, with music by Kurt Weill and lyrics by Ira Gershwin, the film version of "Lady in the Dark," is said to surpass in vis ual beauty its stage sister, and to provide for the talented Gin ger and Milland another sure fire hit. Filmed in glorious tech nicolor, the story of the woman editor of a magazine whose re pressions almost wreck her life, is told against a background of dreams brought to life when Ginger, who plays the woman, is induced to visit a psycho analyst. "Lady in the Dark" opens today at the Craterian theatre. "Lady m the Dark" was pro duced and directed by Mitchell Leisen whose past hits have proved him one of Hollywood's top picture-makers. According to those who have seen the picture, cult production assignment is a masterful job. Departing from the usual twin-bill programs at the Rialto the single musical feature "Naughty Marietta" will hold the spotlight. Illusions and feats of magic follow In such rapid succession that the entire auditorium seems transformed into a veritable fairyland during the entire eve ning. Julie, the Great Virgil's lead ing lady and heralded as Ameri ca's sweetheart of magic, will present two outstanding acts during the performance. The first a beautiful act of art and the second her strange demon stration of human television which has puzzled scientists and doctors all over America. Special Scenery Several special changes of scenery, dozens of beautiful cos tumes, special music and light ing effects, birds and animals and magic galore will be used during the presentation of this mystery production. All proceeds from the produc tion will go directly to the new visual education department of Medford senior high. Tickets are on sale at the auditorium box office located at the Chamber of Commerce. Early reservations are urged in order to insure a good location as all seats will be reserved.
