Miss, Shoemaker is making a speaking tour while on leave of absence from mis sionary , work in the Belgian Congo. Reminder Issued A remind er was Issued today to holders of "T" gasoline rations that re newal applications for the next quarter's gasoline supplies should be sent in to the local war price and ration, board at once. Robinson, who lived here for many years and is well known, is now motor trans port officer of the United States army depot at Seattle. Flue Fire The ehemlcal truck was called to the residence of Mark Jarmln, 23 Corning Court, last night, to extinguish a flue fire caused by vines which had grown into the chim ney, according to the fire de partment. No damage was done the fire department said. ' Win Ribbons Mr. and Mrs, John Smith of the Jacksonville highway returned Sunday after attending the Salem dog show. Mrs. Smith entered two Pomer anians, a male and a female, and both received blue ribbons in the judging. While at the show Mrs. Smith purchased a highly-bred female Pomeranian to add to her kennel. -..-a Attend Conference R. G Fowler, county agent: C. -B Cordy, assistant county agent; Earle Jossy, Four-H club agent for the county and Miss Marian Farrell, county home demon stration agent, are in Corvallis this week to attend the annual conference of the state exten sion service. The four agents will return to their duties next Monday morning. Money Stolen BUI Prouty, operator at the Craterian thea tre, Central avenue, reported to city police that $20 in change and $8.16 from an employee's billfold was stolen from the theatre's popcorn stand room sometime last night. It was be lieved that someone might have stayed , in the theatre after clos ing hours last night, the report said. Henry Bray Here Henry Lee Bray, sound man on a destroyer escort, and his wife arrived to day for a visit with Dr. and Mrs. Jouett P. Bray of Lozier Lane. Bray was given a sick leave from Oak Knoll hospital, Oak land, where he was confined for two months. Prior to his stay there he was confined in a hos pital at Peari Harbor for four months.
