Sen Born Mr. and Mrs. Ray Langley of Pomona, Calif., are parents of an eight pound son born Wednesday, Sept. 27th. The baby has been named Terry Lee. Mrs. Langley was formerly Mar lon Matheny, and is the daughter of Mrs. Jack O'Brien of the Applegate. t t Ttnhhat Kama Seaman James Bobbett, who has been stationed a. Farragut, Ida., has arrived in Medford to spend 16 days leave with his wife, Lorraine, 713 W. 13th St., and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Bobbett, who operate the Medford Auto Wercking com pany, at 1618 N. Riverside St. He will return to Farragut when his leave is over. Edwards Back Tech. Sgt. George Edwards, stationed at Kingman, Ariz., is visiting his wife at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Smith at Central Point. Sgt. Edwards will return to Kingman when his two weeks furlough is ended. He was formerly employed by Skinners Garage, and has been in the army air forces two years. Cases Reported Communic able disease remains at a low level in the county, the weekly report of Dr. A. Ervin Merkel, county health officer, showing but four new cases reported this last week. One case of measles was reported from Medford, one case of rheumatic fever from Ashland, one of whooping cough from Gold Hill and one case of pneumonia at Camp White. Commissioned Bennie Long will has completed officer candi date school. in Australia and has been commissioned a second lieu tenant in the United States army according to a cablegram re ceived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Longwill of 448 North Front street. Lt. Longwill has been in the army three years, leaving Medford senior high school to enlist. He is with an infantry unit. a a Women To Meet Women of Rotary will hold the first meet ing of the fall Wednesday after noon of this week at the home of Mrs. S. E. Phipps, Big B-ul-der Orihard. Luncheon will be served at 1 p.m. and will be fol lowed by a business meeting, bridge and other activities. Ass!s tant hostesses will be Mrs. Mayn ard Bush and Mrs. Melvin Plas kett. Those attending are asked to bring their own service. Lieutenant Horn Lt. ()g) Robert J. Cunningham and Mrs. Cunningham arrived in Medford yesterday from San Francisco and for the next two weeks will be guests of Lt. Cunningham's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Arthur Cunningham, Orchard Home Drive, and his grandmother, Mrs. D. W. Luke. Queen Anne avenue. Lt. Cunningham has just return ed to this country from a South Pacific base where he was sta tioned for 15 months. Upon expi ration of his leave he will report for duty in Seattle. On Business Paul J. Follow New Clue In Disappearance Of Tot and Maid Detroit, Oct. 2 (U.R) Search for clues in the disappearance of an 18-year-old nursemaid and a four-months old boy she is sus pected of abducting turned to day to a high school and an apartment to which a cab driver reported driving a girl and baby Saturday night. Police reported that belief that Helen Rosman had gone to Pittsburgh with the baby, Rob ert King, was discounted after checking a report that they had been seen by a railroad station information clerk. Raymond Watkins, 44, the cab driver, told officers he picked up a girl and baby in front of a neighborhood theater Saturday night and drove them to an apartment in a high-class resi dential neighborhood some two miIesaway Gannett's Cohort Under Indictment Washington, Oct. 2 (U.R) Dr. Edward A. Rumely, executive secretary of Frank E. Gannett's committee for constitutional gov ernment, today was indicted by a federal grand jury for refus ing to turn over records of con tributors of $100 or more to the house campaign expenditures committee. The records had been sub penaed and the house committee held that Rumely's refusal was "willful and deliberate" defiance of federal laws giving congress the power of subpena. Richard Clarence Hlner, 17, route 1, box 103, Central Point, driver of the other automobile involved in the accident, appear ed in justice court today where h- was fined $10 and $4.50 costs for failure to operate his auto on the right side of the road. He was picked up Saturday evening by state police after the Hiner and Beck cars collided on a curve, about 6:15 p.m. Saturday. Hiner paid the fine. Oct. 9 Deadline For Disposal Of Grocers' Tokens Grocers have until Oct. 9 to dispose of their blue ration to kens according to the local war price and ration board. Use of the blue tokens has been discon tinued and grocers must now turn in what they have on hand, it was said. Grocers who have ration banking accounts may turn them in, using multiples of 250 in the manner provided for in the past, or if less than 250, in a sealed envelope, the board states.
