Mrs. Rice attended Medford senior hieh school until last the spring and Mr. Rice is a graduate of the school. 1 Episcopal Church i Women s Groups j Are Reorganized ! Women's organizations of St. Mark's Episcoal church are be ing reorganized and in the fu ture will meet in two groups, one in the daytime and one j which will hold evening meet- i ings. The daytime group will hold all-day sessions, meeting at the new parish hall at 10:30 a. m. i for Red Cross sewing to be fol lowed by lunch at noon and an afternoon meeting. The name of this group and the schedule of meetings will be decided at a gathering Oct. 3. Mrs. Arthur G. McMillin and Mrs. H. Gates will serve as co-presidents of the daytime group, each presi dent being responsible for one meeting a month. Meeting in the evening will be the Evening Guild, with the next session scheduled for Mon day, Sept. 25, at the home of Mrs. Margaret Fabrick, 106 Crater Lake avenue at 8 p. m. Mrs. Paul Selby is president cf the Evening Guild. The group will meet the second and fourth Mondays of each month. The Altar Guild, of which Mrs. John Moffat is chairman, will hold called meetings from time to time. State Conference Children's Group Held In Portland Rebekah Lodge Has Fun Party Monday Evening Wearing ridiculous clothing, including hats fashioned from such items as paper plates and cheese cartons, members of Re bekah lodge enjoyed a fun fest following the regular business meeting of the group last Mon day. The party had been planned by Mrs. Bess Dyer and a com mittee of helpers. Mrs. Homer Harvey's fun hat was voted the prize winner after all had been displayed. A num ber of games were played during the evening and refreshments were served by Mrs. Marie Han: sen, assisted by a committee. Carrying out the fun theme of the evening, members were served cake and potato chips from a table laid with funny papers and used pages from magazines for napkins. Table decorations were fashioned from vegetables. Breakfast Party Given By Posse Following Ride Another of the series of break fast parties given during the late summer weeks by the Jackson County Sheriff's Posse was held last Sunday morning at the home of Dr. and Mrs. S. E. Philips, Big Boulder Orchard, with mem bers of the Ladies Mounted Troop as guests. Members of the two troops enjoyed an early morning ride and upon arrival at the Philips' home, breakfast was served from tables on the lawn. In charge of the breakfast were Dr. James C. V. Car penter home, Topsldcs. on the Old Stage Road. Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Clark acted as hosts to the group. After the swimming party, the parents and'school staff served a picnic supper, with water melon furnished by Mr. Potter. Both the children and parents had an especially pleasant eve ning and extended their hearty thanks to the Carpenters for their invitation. Epsilon Chapter Teacher's Group Resumes Meetings Epsilon chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma held the first meeting of the fall Saturday, i Sept. 16, at the Girls' Communi ty club. This organization, na tional honor society for women in the teaching profession, has teachers from Ashland, Medford j and Grants Pass in Epsilon chap- ter with Miss Delie Whisenant, ' Medfbrd high school teacher, as j head of the valley chapter.
