Newspaper Page TextLOCAL and Troopera To Play A group of the Accordion Troopers from Mrs. Eve Prentice's studio will play for the Pocahontas lodge tonight after the regular meet ing, officers state. Sells Store Ray Wilson an nounced today that he had sold his store "The Nugget" in Jack sonville to Thelma Mclntyre. He has been in business since March of 1930. He said he planned to work in Central Point. Recovering Paul Betz of Medford, who has accidentally struck on the head with a pick at Union Creek July 24, has been released from Sacred Heart hospital and is now at his home and may receive visitors. Returns Wilbur Mead has returned to his home in Med ford after working the past few months in Idaho, and is now awaiting his call into the army. He is the son of George Mead, county poundmaster. Wagner I Sergeant Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Wagner of 1021 N. Central Ave. have received word that their son, Leo Wagner is now a technical sergeant. An other son, Pfc. Paul Wagner, is somewhere in France. Visiting Here Capt. Wood row A. Jones and friend, Miss Gladys Little of Seattle arrived in Medford this morning to visit Capt. Jones' mother, Mrs. Laura Jones of 514 S. Ivy street. Capt. Jones is stationed at Camp Davis, N. Carolina. They will be here until Monday night. Returns Home Mrs. George Stevenson of the Old Pacific highway has returned home after a two weeks visit in Grand Forks, N. D. Burdett Leaves Tommy Bur dett, aviation metalsmith first class with the navy, has re turned to Seattle after spending a month's leave here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Bur dett of 327 West Eighth street. Burdett's leave here terminated 26 months' service at an air base in Hawaii and at Seattle he will be reassigned for fur ther duty with the navy. This leave was the first in three years for Burdett. Twins Born Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Stelle are the parents of twin sons born Sept. 2 at the Station Hospital, Camp White. The in fants have been named Jerry arid Gary. Mrs. Stelle is the for mer Marjorie Chastain, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. S .E. Chas tain, and Mr. Stelle's parents are Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Stelle. Mr. Stelle is a third class petty offi cer in the navy and is on duty somewhere in the South Pacific area. The twins are the first chil dren of the Stelles. Promoted Ernest R. Rice, company clerk with the 25th Infantry Division in the Smith Pacific and a son of Mrs E. C. Rice, 910 West Eleventh street, has been promoted to corporal according to information re ceived from the division head quarters. A former student at Medford senior high school, Cpl. Rice was employed as a painter at the time of his induction in January of 1942. Overseas for more than two years, he holds the Good Conduct Medal and is a veteran of Guadalcanal and Vclla LaVclla.
