U.S.C.A.; that the said article of food is misbranded within the purview of Title 21, Section 343(a), U.S.C.A.. in that the name of the article "Apple Butter" is false and misleading as applied to a product which fails to con form to the definition and stand ard of identity for Anple Butter: and, iseJurther misbranded un der Title 21. Section 343(g)(1). U.S.C.A., in that it purports to be and Is represented as Apple Butter, a food for which a defi nition and standard of Identity has been prescribed by regula tions promulgated pursuant to Section 341. D., puts it in his excellent book: "The cause of arteriosclerosis is un known. Cer tain observa tions sugg est that dietary and metabolic factors may be important i n its genesis, but knowledge i s insufficient to permit preven tion." And just to show what kind, of a doc tor the author is let. us quote his further statement that "Smoking, physical ' and emo tional strain cannot be regarded as causes of arteriosclerosis." That makes it unanimous, or at any rate I and another doctor assure you that hard wotk, i mean honest work with the muscles, doesn't harden the ar teries or hasten the onset of old age. I repeat, I don't know, but I do believe certain nutritional de ficiencies to which most Ameri cans are subject throughout life have much to do with premature aging, and the deficiencies chief ly concerned, in my opinion are those which inevitably occur by reason of (a) our use of refined white flour and our excessive consumption of refined white sugar, (b) our failure to get a reasonable amount of sunshine or skyshine on naked skin, and (c) our inadequate per capita con sumption of milk and milk pro- ducts. Specifically the nutrition- nl riefiripnpies are fa) shortage of vitamin B-complex, particularly thiamin and riboflavin, (b) short age of sunshine vitamin D, which is essential for normal calcium betabolism, and (c) shortage of calcium. The fountain of youth I have discovered is a bin of wheat plain wheat not subjected to any magic processing, purification of refinement in a mill or food fac tory.
