FOOT MEDI-ORD MAIL TRIBUNE Society Miss Becky Victor, Captain Rinabarger Married In Idaho The wedding of Miss Becky Victor, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Victor of Twin Falls, Ida., and Marine Captain R. N. Rina barger, son of Mr. and Mr. H. E. Rinabarger, formerly 01 Moa- ford and now of Roseburg, Ore., was an event of July 9. The single ring ceremony was read by Dr. G. L. Clark, pastor of tne First Presbyterian church in Twin Falls, at 2:30 p. m. at the home of the bride's parents, and in the presence of 30 relatives .and close friends. Vows were exchanged by the couple as they stood before an improvised archway, backed ny lighted tapers and flanked on either side by baskets of del phinium, white phlox and dou ble syrlnga. Given In marriage by her father, the bride wore white afternoon dress designed with gored skirt, low-cut neckline and short sleeves capped with shoulder epaulets trimmed with white velvet ribbon. With it she wore a white half-hat, and her corsage was an orchid, embed ded in gardenias. The bride's only attendant, .Miss Mary Jean Shlpman, wore a light blue street dress, de signed with a draped V-neckline and cascading ruffles down the center front of the draped rklrt. Her corsage was of gardenias. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Victor chose a lavender eyelet afternoon frock, and her corsage was of pink rosebuds. Don Porterfield, brother-in- law of the bridegroom, waj his best man. ! Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held in the garden of the Victor home with the bridal pair cutting the decorated cake In traditional manner. Mrs. F. W. Neale, Good ing, Ida., and Mrs. T. M. Balrd, Twin Falls, aunts of the bride, presided. The table was covered with a lace cloth and centered with the two-tiered cake, which 'was topped with tiny sprigs of double syrlnga. - Capt. and Mrs. Rinabarger left later that . afternoon for Roseburg where they visited his parents for a few days before continuing to El Torra, Calif., where they will make their home while he is stationed at the marine corps air base there, For traveling, the bride wore a brown and chartreuse cotton sport suit and matching acces sories, with which she wore the orchid from her bridal corsage. Mrs. Rinabarger attended Twin Falls high, school and the University of Idaho, Moscow, where she was pledged to Alpha Phi sorority. For the past year and a half she has been employ ed by the Kinney Wholesale company In Twin Falls. Capt. Rinabarger graduated from Mcdford high school, and was a student at Oregon State college, where he was a member of Theta Cht fraternity, and the Southern Oregon College of Education before enlisting In the marine air corps In 1941. He had previously taken civilian pilot's training at the Mcdford airport. He returned to this country about three months ago after nearly a year of active duty In the south Pacific. Capt. Rlnabargrr's parents moved to Roseburg In April of this year, having lived In Med ford for many years prior to that time. Other local relatives of the captain are his grandpar ents, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Hlna barger of 71R S. Newtown street, an uncle, R. J. Rinabarger of Vancouver street, and an aunt, Mrs. Diamond Flynn of 1324 Queen Anne avenue. Captain of the degree staff which performed Is W. H. Dyer, with Bess Dyer as assistant Mrs. Bessie Hubler sang a solo, accompanied by Marguerite Conrad. Mrs. Mary Wiley, who has served as recording secretary for the lodge for 20 years, was presented a beautiful gift from the group by Ina Huson, Ethyl Weed, Ella Gould and Lona Bergman. Refreshments were served by Minnie Bryant, Pearl Blanton, Elsa Walker, Emily Conrad, Florence Bousson, and Mr. and Mrs. Homer Harvey. Officers' Wives Meet At Outpost Mrs. John R. Young, wife of Col. Young, commanding officer at Camp White, greeted more than fifty members of the Serv ice Command Unit officers' wives club at their regular monthly meeting held Friday, July 21, at the Outpost. Lunch eon was served at one o'clock. Pastel colored flowers were used for decoration and the tables were arranged with pas tel colored linen and glassware. Hostesses for the day were Mrs. Charles H. Saiith, Mrs. Murray M. If ft, Mrs. Walter J. Bryant and Mrs. Thomas Flana gan. Mrs. J. W. Horsley presided at the business meeting. In ad dition to the regular members. the wives of several of the of ficers who are at Camp White for reassignment were also pres ent; Bridge and bingo were played during the afternoon. Bridge prizes were won by Mrs. Ken neth L. Mahnny, Mrs. L. P. Hart ley and Miss Ann Ledrlck. Bingo prizes went to Mrs. Dar ren F. Peterson, Mrs. H. C. Wood and Mrs. W. K. Hall. Shower Honors Talent Woman Talent A shower honoring Genevieve Holdrldge was given July 14 at the home of Mrs. I. C. Williams. Mrs. Holdrldge re ceived many lovely gifts, and refreshments were served. Don cake together during the reception held in their honor in the lounge of the guesthouse following the wedding ceremony last Saturday, July 15, in Chapel No. 5 at Camp White. Mrs. Safford is the former Rena Semensa, senior hostess at Service Club No. 2, and Sgt. Safford is entertainment director for the post special services. Both have been stationed at Camp White for nearly two years, and have many friends in the valley. The couple is at present on a wedding trip to Reno, Nev., and Lake Tahoe, Calif. (Picture Business Women Picnic Thursday Members of the Medford Business and Professional Worn en's club met Thursday evening at the home of Margaret Morri son, 1624 East Main street, for a picnic dinner and business ses sion. Edith Davis and Lulu Watson were in charge of ar rangements for the picnic, and Mildred Dniry prepared ' the dinner. Gertrude Hamlin, Girl Scout executive, gave a talk on the Girl Scout summer camp. Portland Visitor Honored At Party Mrs. Edward Walker of Port land was honored guest at a des sert hrldne party given Thursday afternoon, July 13, by Mrs. Rich ard Payne at her home, 101 Geneva street. The centerpiece on the table was a red gladioli flanked on either side with white and blue candles. Miniature flags were used as place cards, and each guest was given a sweetpea cor sage. . Baptist Ladles Meeting At Church On Tuesday Ladies' Auxiliary of the First Baptist church will meet at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the church to do White Cross work. Walkers Leave Medford For Home In California Jock Walker, storekeeper In the navy left Medford Friday after spending his leave visiting with his family and friends. MODEL BAKERY 22 WEST MAIN Regan'Morrls Wedding Mass Read In Chapel In a full Catholic ceremony and wedding mass celebrated in the post chapel at Camp White last Thursday evening, Second Lieutenant Margaret Regan, Army Nurse Corps, became the bride of Lt. (jg)'George Morris, United States Coast Guard. The service was read by Chaplain Francis Klinkacek at 6 o'clock, in the presence of about 100 friends. Miss Regan is a member of a prominent family In Boise, Idaho, while Lt. Morris' home is in Fall River, Mass. Maid of honor for the bride was Lt. Elizabeth Noonan, ANC, and Capt. John A. Fraser, exec utive officer of the Camp White Station Hospital was best man. The entire wedding party was dressed in military uniforms. The bride is stationed at Camp White at present. Lt. Morris is assigned to the 12th Naval District, San Francisco, and is on a short leave. The couple left immediately after the ceremony for a brief honeymoon on the Rogue river north of Medford, the bride be ing required to report for duty again yesterday. Eagle Point Girl Honored Monday At Bridal Shower Eagle Point A bridal shower for Miss Joan Holmes was given at the home of Mrs. Annie Clave and Miss Yetta Olson, by Miss Olson, Mrs. Mary Ballard and Frances Clave last Monday eve ning, with about fifty guests at tending. Miss Holmes is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Holmes of Eagle Point. She graduated from the local schools and attended the Southern Ore gon College of Education at Ash land for two years, and Oregon State College last year. Her fi ance, Eugene Myers, is attending officers' training school at Fort Belvoir, Va., and will receive his commission the latter part of August. The bride-elect received many beautiful gifts, after which re freshments were served to the group. Inmans From Arizona To Locate In Medford Mr. and Mrs. Claude C. In man of Tucson, Arizona, have moved to Medford where they plan to take up residence if they are able to locate a suitable home. They have been house guests of Mr. Inman's daughter, Mrs. O. C. Jensen of Perrydale, but are now residing at 513 South Newtown street. Mr. In roan Is a former resident of Medford having lived here a number of years ago. He is in terested in the mining in the valley. With Mr. and Mrs. New man came their sons, Cullen, Claude, Jr., and James. Carpenters Local Union Picnic In Ashland Today Members and families of the Carpenters Union Local No. 2067 and auxiliary are having a picnic in the Ashland Lithia park today, beginning at 1 p.m. Those attending are to bring picnic baskets and table service. (Photo by Haden Jones Studio) Parents Announce Daughter's Troth To Coast Guardsman Mr. and Mrs. Royal Walter Lee of San Francisco, Calif., have announced the engagement of their daughter, Dorothy, to Ensign Walter Myron Chase Jr., United States Coast Guard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Myron Chase of Needham, Mass. Miss Lee, now a Spar at the San Diego Air Station, was grad uated from Medford high school and attended the Southern Ore gon College of Education in Ash land. Ensign Chase was a stu dent at Northeastern College in Boston, Mass., leaving in 1941 during his senior year to join the Coast Guard. He received his wings at Pensacola, Fla. No definite date has been set for the wedding. Relief Corps Has Luncheon Thursday Mrs. Freda Lawrence was hos tess to the W omen's Relief Corps for a pot-luck luncheon and soc ial afternoon at her home, 1422 Euclid avenue, Thursday. Goold Married July 9 At an Impressive double ring ceremony Sunday, July 9, Miss Lois Murphy of Port Mason, Calif., became the bride of Harry R. Goold of this city. The service was read by the Rev. Harry Hansen at the First Pres byterian church in Medford. Miss Murphy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred O'Terris of San Jose, Calif., and Mr. Gooid'i parents are Mr. and Mrs. George C. Goold. The bride was given In nar riage by E. D. Brock. Mrs. E. D. Brock, sister of the groom, was matron of honor and Charles G. Goold, the groom's brother was best man. Bridesmaids were the Misses Pearl and Winifred Brock and Roberta Goold., with Miss Jean Brock acting as flow er girl. Following the ceremony a re ception was held at the home of the groom's parents. Mrs. Goold was formerly em ployed at Fort Mason a3 a ma rine electrician. Mr. Goold, who has lived In Medford his entire life and at tended the Medford schools, was a port engineer for the army transport service at San Fran cisco prior to his enlistment in the United States Naval Reserve from which he was recently hon orably discharged. The couple left after the re ception on a wedding trip. They plan to make their home in the Rogue River valley on their re turn. 4 Conners Announce Birth Of Daughter In East Mr. and Mrs. Ernest J. Smith of 1012 South Oakdale received a telegram Saturday morning announcing the birth of a daugh ter to Mr. and Mrs. John Conner. Mrs. Conner is the former Janet Wray Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. The Conners are now residents of Washing ton, D. C, where Mr. Conner is with the army engineers. I.OiO.F.
