U.R) Construction of two large in dustrial plants near Eugene, m $300,000 project for wood pres ervation and treatment and a $200,000 silica sand 'refining plant, were announced here to day. The wood preservation plant will treat approximately 750,000 board feet per month, employ ing 23 men, Frank L. Lowry, manager, said. Construction has already begun along the South ern Pacific's Marshfield branch line near Seneca station, about 20 miles west of this city. Big timbers and piling will be treated with creosote to with stand tropical climates, as pro lection against insects, and for marine use, Lowry said. A build ing for treating cedar poles will also be constructed on the pro perly.
