Hahne mann and his teach ings served a great purpose and restored a degree of san ity to medical practice which was anything : Dt Brad . but rational be fore his day, what with bleeding, salivation purgation, blistorlng and other drailic methods .which in too many instances, made the treatment worse than the dis ease. Even if we now believe the cures attributed to homeopathic treatment (minute doses of the drug the practitioner thinks will produce similar symptoms) are really due to natural powers of recovery working unhindered, still we must udmit that Hahne mann contributed much to medi cine and some of his teachings are employed in practice by most good physicians today. In saying this I do not endorse or approve of homeopathy or any other so-called "school" of medi cine, least of all "allopathy' which never was a system of practice anyway. In my opinion a healer who purports to be a bomeop&thist. an allopathist, an osteopathia or anything other than a physician fitted by edu cation, training and character to employ whatever method of treatment the patient needs In his Judgment, is exploiting the ignorance and credulity of the public. One good Instance of the use of a homeopathic principle, in everyday practice is the treat ment of ivy poisoning perhaps the best treatment we have to day. To nhlaln tha ai,l.llnr. of the tenant it is necessary that uib purcnaser require the proper ty for his own occupancy as his home. The tenant is protected by the rent regulation against spurious sales agreements which would have the effect of evicting him sooner. In such cases, either the seller or the buyer must complete a Petition form nnHor tha ni regulation for a certificate re lating to an eviction form secur ed from the rent control office. Without such a certificate ton. ant may not be evicted on these grounds. The petition form must be accompanied by affidavits by the seller and the buyer show ing at least 20 per cent down payment was made by the buyer from unbnrrnwpd fnnde THIo again is to protect the tenant against faKe sales with the pur pose of his eviction. When this netition and nf. fidavits are filed, copies are sent to tne tenant with a form asking for his comment. Other Common Evictions No certificate is necessary where the following conditions apply, but a copy of each notice necessary should be filed with the local rent control office on the same day it is served upon the tenant. (1) If the tenant refuses to re new his lease upon the same terms as his expiring lease. This is a ground for eviction only when the lease is for a term not longer than a year and contains nothing contrary to the rent regulations. (2) Where the tenant refuses the landlord access to the premises for Inspection or to ahow to a prospective purchaser unless such access is contrary to the terms of a tenant's lease. (3) Violation of a substantial part of the rent agreement such as maintaining a fire hazard on the premises. However, the land, lord must give the tenant written notice to cease such violation and a reasonable opportunity to do so. (4) Committing a nuisance or using the unit for illegal or Im moral purposes. (5) Where the landlord wishes to do extensive remodeling or alteration which cannot be done practicably with the tenant in occupancy. Where these grounds are used the landlord must fur nish the rent director with docu mentary evidence of the neces sity and a copy of the building permit where such is necessary. (6) When the landlord wants to use the dwelling for his own home, providing he bought the property before the effective CIVILIANS ONLY! (8) Where a tenant's lease has expired and at Its expiration he is subletting and not occupying any portion of the dwelling him self. In any case of doubt as to the eviction of a tenant under the rent regulation, whether the doubt is on the part of the land lord or the tenant, the local rent office should be consulted and in exceptional cases, a certificate relating to eviction must be is sued by the rent director.
