Stamp Valid Housewives were reminded today by the local war price and rationing board that "spare" stamp No. 1 in the No. 4 ration book is valid for five points for the purchase 1 of pork. The stamp was vali dated Dec. 22 and expires Jan. 2. " Family Here Bob Robinson of Portland spent Christmas in Medford with his parents, Mr and Mrs. Glenn Robinson who came here from Redding, Cal., for the holiday, and other rela tives. In Missouri Pvt.- Robert L. Yocom has been transferred from Ft. Knox, Ky to Jefferson Barracks, Mo. This post, located on the Mississippi River a few miles south of St. Louis, is a his toric military base and is now being used as a basic training center for the AAF. Pvt. Yocom is the son of Mrs. R. M. Yocom, Rt 4. Hare for Xmas Miss Beulah , Stephenson of Santa Monica. Calif., was in Medford over Christmas visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. O. Stephenson, 418 Arcadia court. She brought with her a girl friend, Miss Pat Finch of Santa Monica. Miss Stephenson is employed at Douglas Aircraft. Both plan to Ajceturn to California this week. yr . - - . Matlocks Here Ralph Mat lock, stationed with the army at Camp Adair, visited his mother, Mrs. L. J. Matlock on the Jack sonville highway last week, re turning to his station Christmas eve. He has been in the army since last July. Jack Matlock, formerly connected with the Medford theatres and now of Portland, also visited his mother this week-end, being here yester day. Examiner Coming A travel ing examiner of operators and chauffeurs will be in the K. P. hall next Friday, Dec. 31, be tween the hours of 9 a. m. and 5 p. m., and all those wishing permits or licenses to drive cars are asked to contact the exam iner between these hours, ac cording to an announcement from the secretary of state's of fice. . Minor Accidents A car driv en by H. A. Erickson of 1115 West Main streetr was struck in the rear end by one operated by David R. Todd of Route 2 on Main street between Peach and Hamilton street Sunday evening, according to a report on file to day. Cars driven by G. A. Thompson of 211 Vancouver avenue and W. Cyril Sander, who was to have left Friday for Drew Field, Fla., after a visit In Medford with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Sander, Oak Grove Road, was taken ill with influenza and was unable to leave the city. Pvt, Sander's leave has been ex tended until Jan. 8 and he will remai.r at home for the next several days. e e Horse Killed State police re ported today that a Rogue Val ley Transit company bus driven Dy Hoy B. Baker, 46, struck and killed a horse on the Crater Lake highway about a half mile this side of Camp White early Sunday morning. None of the passengers was injured but the bus suffered considerable dam age to the front end, police siaiea. Webb Graduates Pfc. Chester O. In a recent letter Cadet i Porter stated that he has been flying from 30 minutes to an hour each day, with a total of five hours a day on the "flight line," two hours of ground school, drill and callsthentics, and that he would soon be ready to solo.
