Yocom has been transferred
from Ft. Knox, Ky to Jefferson
Barracks, Mo. This post, located
on the Mississippi River a few
miles south of St. Louis, is a his
toric military base and is now
being used as a basic training
center for the AAF. Pvt. Yocom
is the son of Mrs. R. M. Yocom,
Rt 4.

Sander, who was to have left
Friday for Drew Field, Fla.,

tended until Jan. 8 and he will

killed a horse on the Crater
Lake highway about a half mile

In School Aviation Cadet
Cloyd L. Porter of Jacksonville
is now at Oxnard, Calif., attend
ing an AAF primary flying
: school. In a recent letter Cadet
i Porter stated that he has been
flying from 30 minutes to an
hour each day, with a total of
five hours a day on the "flight
line," two hours of ground
school, drill and callsthentics,
and that he would soon be ready
to solo. Cadet Porter was em
ployed by the Mall Tribune
before going into the army.

Mrs. Naomi Baker passed away
at the home of her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Floyd R. Jenkins, 119
S. Newtown street Sunday at the
age of 23,
She was born in Medford on
April 24, 1920, and had spent her
entire life here. In January,
1941, she was united in marriage
to George W. Baker, who is with
the army now stationed in Aus
tralia. She also leaves a brother,
Lynn, at home, and her grand
mother, Mrs. Zetta Lontz, Med-
fed.
Services will be held In the
Conger Chapel Tuesday at S p. m.
with the Rev. Harry Hansen of
ficiating. Interment will be in
Siskiyou Memorial Park.
