Gifts were ' exchanged by the members. At the close of the afternoon, the hostess served refreshments to Georgia McKil lop, Marjorie Broorrfield, Velma Chapman, Ethel Goode, Rose Ditsworth, Marion Bean, Hazel Haynet, Fanny Snook, My Dal ton, Ruth Doty, Pauline Lacy, and Mrs. Phillips. On Friday evening members of the Jantzer Girls club enter tained their husbands with s 7 o'clock potluck supper and Christmas party at the hon.e of Mr. and Mrs. Chas B. Broom field. The evening was spent playing games and dancing. A white elephant auction sale added to the treasury of the club. Paula Blanton Wins Award 1 Of Local Chapter Miu Paula Blanton, third- year student at Medford senior hieh school, will represent the school in the annual Daughters of the American Revolution good citizenship pilgrimage con test for 1943-44 according to an announcement made at the meet ing pf Crster Lake chapter held Saturday, Dec. 18, at the horns of Mrs. E. M. Wilson, 340 South Riverside Ave.- Miss Blanton is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Blanton, Rt, 1. . Miss Blan ton's sward ' Is - a trip to the D. A. R. Continental Congress, usually held In Wash ington, D. C, but which is being held in New York City this year. If transportation can be arranged, Miss Blanton will take the trip but if not, she will re ceive a f 100 war bond instead. A report was made on the attendance st the citizenship admission ceremonies held here Dec. 9 when about 40 persons became' citizens. This has long been a project of the D. A. R. A Christmas party followed .the business meeting, presided over by the regent, Mrs.-T. J. Glfford. Christmas poems were read by Mrs. Frank J. Newman and Mrs. Thomas Young led the members in singing carols. The story of "The Field of Angels" by Florence' Morse KIngsley, was read by Miss Sara Van Meter. According to the legend, the. many white daisies growing in this field, near Bethlehem, mark the place where the angels stood on the night of Christ's birth. An incident of interest, Mrs. Bert B. Lowry told of her son, David, sending her a red poppy from the Field of Angels when he was in Bethlehem few years sgo.
