OBITUARY W. I. BEARDSLEY William Jefferson Beardsley, 84, resident of Jackson county for over BO years, passed away at a local convalescent home Saturday. He was bom In Free born county, Minnesota, Feb. 10, 1838. At one time he operated a gen eral store In Phoenix, Oregon, and for the past few years had been farming at Rogue River. He leaves one adopted daugh ter, Mrs, Mae Verdianl, of Marshf leld; three step-daughters, Mrs. Joe 'Nash, Medford; Mrs Lena Martin, Prlnevllle, and Mrs. Nettle RIffenherger, Corn ing, Cal.; also a step-son, Ray Crump, of Klamath Falls. Funeral services will be con ducted from the Perl Funeral Home Wednesday at 2 p. m., El der O. A. Thompson of the Seventh-Day Adventlst church offi ciating. Interment will be In Phoenix cemetery. JAMES H. PINO James H. Ping, 67, passed way at the family home on Rt. 4. the Old Fort Baker road. Mon day night. Mr. Ping was born In Laurel county, Kentucky. June 29, 187a. He served In the Spanish American war with the Ken tucky Volunteers, Co. "I." After the war he moved to Montana, where he lived until coming to Medford, - Mr. Ping was united In mar riage to Maggie Harrison at Boie man, Mont., on Dec. 8, 1932. They came direct to Medford. living for several years at 808 Palm St. He has been civilian guard at Camp White for the past 10 months. Besides his wife, ha la ir- vlved by two brothers, David Ping, Medford, and E. Ping, In nemucKy; also six step-children, Earl Harrison, Medford; Roy Harrison, In the United States Ir corps; Mrs. Eleanor Burdell. , Shevlln, Ore.; Mrs. Gladys Lee, Mrs. Alberta McDonald and Mrs. Greta Schrecengoat, of Salem, Ore. Funeral services will be con ducted from Perl Funeral Home Thursday at 2 p. m., with the Rev. Harry Hansen, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, offi ciating. Interment will be in Medford I. O. Miller, a resident of Gold Hill fo the past six months, making his home with his daughter, Mrs. Thelma M. Bell, pawed away there Monday. He was born at Empire, Nev., April 17, 1888. The Presbyterian church choir, under the direc tion of Miss Miriam Burton, will sing. The Rev. Ward A, Rice of the First Christian church will give a short mes sage.
