These were: "First; before the Republican leadership could write or agree to a plank they would have to have a full and detailed report on what has taken place at these conferences (Moscow, Cairo and Tehran) and all . the background and . the implications of any agreements or understandings that have been arrived at, either orally or in writing.. "Second, there would have to be an agreement between the two parties as to the exact word ing of the plank agreement as to every word and every comma. And equally, important there would have to be an agreement as to Just what the words mean and they must mean exactly the same thing to both parties. '. For Firm Commitment "Third, having agreed to such wording and its meaning, if the Republican convention adopted the plan, there would have to be firm -commitment a commit ment the keeping of which would not be open to question that the Democratic party in its conven tion would adopt the exact same plank, without so much as the change of a word," Landon said. Landon said the public had the ngnt to ask, for its own Informa. tion, the details of agreements reached at International confer ences without being charged with being anti-British or anti- Russian. 'The American people are not anti-British or anti-Russian. They are simply pro-American and they are pro-world peace.
