Friend, who staged holdups In the offices of two doctors here Wednesday forenoon, were sen tenced to indeterminate terms of up to 15 years in the state penitentiary Thursday when they pleaded guilty to charges of assault with a dangerous weapon. Sentence was pronounced by Circuit Judge L. G. Lewelllng less than 24 hours after Slsco, the first to be caught, was 'ar rested.' Both are ex-convicts, Sisco having served time at the Monroe, Wash., reformatory and Friend Tjeing on prison parole from Walla Walla, Wash. Both previous offenses were holdups. (U.R) Speaker Sam Rayburn left his chair today to make one of his infrequent appearances in the well of the house, and told 350 attentive members that he wished to warn the ; nation against "certain dangerous talk" involving Russia, Britain, the Patton incident and home com plaints about price control. "Every week, he, said, -"Somebody asks 'what' art we going to do with England after the war? Is England going to bestride the world like a colos sus?' Dangerous Talk ' "That's dangerous talk. Any thing calculated to bring about disunity and wrong thinking at this time is dangerous talk. It Is a reflection upon the intelli gence of American manhood and womanhood if we do not have patriotism enough and brains enough to sit around the peace table with anybody on earth. Then, he continued, "some body says what are we going to do about Russia after the war." "What I'm interested In In 1043 and 1S44 is what Russia is doing now." Army Target Rayburn aaid that "especially since the Patton affair," which he termed "tragically unfortun ate," the army "hasn't escaped whispers." "Mistakes have been made," he said, but "if the army and the navy can't run the war better than any civilian, we should have done away with West Point and Annapolis long ago." . Rayburn scolded Americans who complain about price con trol, ceilings, and Inflation con trols. He caid the "people who are sacrificing most complain the least," and "some are com plaining who actually have im proved their positions during the war."
