Major Leaves Major Albert Frank, who was placed last week on inactive duty by the army, left Tuesday night with Mrs. Frank to drive to their home in Detroit, Mich. Maj. Frank wo? the first commanding officer of the Camp White training cadres and later was made post recla mation officer. Mrs. Frank has served 2500 hours of volunteer service at. the local ration board office. Attend Meeting Patrick Graham, state senior vice-commander of the Disabled Amer ican Veterans, and V. J. Morarc, r VFW district commander, both of Medford, attended a meeting of the DAV Monday1 evening in Grants Pass. Other guests pres ent were the state DAV com mander, E. N. Sundell, and na tional service officer, Lile Dai ley, who gave reports of the na tional convention in New York, Sept. 17-22. In Florida Edward Lee Wat eon, who recently graduated from aviation machinist's school at the naval training station at' Norman, Okla., has been as signed to the naval aviation sta tion in Jacksonville, Fla., for further training. Watson, sea man first class, also attended the navy school of gunnery t Whidby island, Wash. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Watson, ldB Kenwood Ave., and has been in the navy since last December. Coleman, Jackson county judge and pres ident of the society. Chinnock will talk on the His- t o r y of Southern Oregon, tracing its progress from the days of the early settlers and the roaring gold mining era, to the present time.
