The big fullback ran 64 and 37 yards for touchdowns and set up the third Michigan counter by Elroy Hirsch, formerly of Wisconsin, with a 20-yard sprint to Northwestern's three -yard line. He bucked through center and slashed the tackles repeat edly for gains and was stopped onlv when tackled by two or more Wildcats. Coach Fritz Crisler s power house started the game as if it planned a top-heavy triumph. Capitalizing on a Northwestern fumble, Daley sprinted, spun and rammed 37 yards to the goal on the first Michigan play of the game. He fumbled when nit on the goal and center. Negus fell on the ball in the end zone, but Daley had crossed the line and the touchdown was credited to him. - A mighty quick kick by Hirsch gave Michigan a 38-yard advantage in an exchange with Frickey Of Northwestern and in three plays, Michigan had scored again. His at torneys have denied indignantly reports that the daughter of the playwright, Eugene O'Neill, also Is an expectant mother. The Misses Barry and O'Neill both were dramatic proteges of the much-married Chaplin. Miss O Neill said her relations with him were "strictly esoteric." Miss Barry said she didn't know what the word meant. South Dako ta as the famed "Battleship A which shot down 32 Japanes? planes in a single South Pacific engagement and in another en counter sent three enemy cruis ers to the bottom. The navy explained that it had heretofore withheld the identity of "Battleship X" be cause the South Dakota, a 35,-000-ton ship, was ' of a new class of battlewagon bearing new armament and possessing heavier fire power -than older ships. It said it did not want to confirm any information the enemy might have about the new class of ship. ." Skipper of the South Dakota when it gained such fame last fall and winter was then Capt Thomas L. Gatch, who now is a rear admiral and judge advo cate general, of the navy.
