Christine Leaden, long time resident of , Medford, passed away in a local hospital shortly before midnight yesterday at the age of 84. She was born in Germany and came to the United States at the age of 21. One year after her arrival she was married at Elkheart, Ind.,' to Henry A. Leaders who passed away here in 1831. Forty-three years - ago they came to Medford and took up residence at 1138 West 10th St., where she continued to reside until the time of her demise. She was a member of the First Christian church of Med ford. Four children survive, H. F. Leaders of Marshfleld; Miss Caroline Leaders and Mrs. George Chlldreth of Medford and Mrs. Carl Thompson of Elkheart, Ind. There are also 17 grandchil dren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held in Conger chapel at 2 o. m Saturday with the Rev. Ward Rice, pastor of the Christian church officiating. Interment in the Medford I. O .0. F. ceme tery. He reported to the board that last year it cost $138.49 per capita to instill the three R's into the heads of young kinder garteners or 88 cents mora than the year previous. However, the greatest increase in the cost of education was in Junior col lege where the schooling cost $300 85 per capita, a Jump of $74.18 over the previous year ending June 30.
