These three liquors are known, respectively, as "killer," "head splitter'' and "fhttnaklnff nniaon." The only American luxuries available for Christmas will be cigarettes and hard candy, flown here from India. On the afternoon of Christmas eve, American officers will en tertain the men at party. USUALTEASfFOR Washington, Dee. 82 U.B The navy said today that the traditional Christmas dinner turkey and all the trimmin's will be served on Dec. 23 to bluejackets ashore or afloat, In this country or thousands of miles away. . The navy expects they will consume 1,250,000 pounds of tur key, 600,000 pounds of ham, 1,300,000 pounds of potatoes, 1,223,000 pounds of other vege tables and tons of celery, cran berry sauce and Ice cream In their holiday dinners. 'Ann Rutherford to Wed Store Official Hollywood, Dec. 22 U.R Ann Rutherford, Mickey Rooney's film sweetheart In the Hardy Family pictures, and David May II, department store executive, plan to be married in the near future. - Miss Rutherford, 23, and May, SO, in filing an application for a wedding license yesterday, said no definite date has been set for the marriage. Miller, new commander of all"' service In charge of maintenance of the Eighth Air Force, said today that British-based American units soon will be ready for an all-ou' aerial offensive against the Axis. TO CUT SHORTAGE Washington, Dee. 22 (U.B The agriculture department an nounced today that It will re lease 2,000,000 cases of govern ment-owned evaporated milk for civilian consumption, to allevi ate a temporary milk shortage. The milk will be told to manu facturers from whom it was pur- cnasea during 1941 and early 1942, The manufacturers will make it available to retailers for immediate distribution to con sumers. The amount to be released con sists of 96,000,000 14Vi-ounce cans.
