This effervescent piece of screen entertainment co-stars Ray Mil land and blonde Betty Field. Featured players include Pat ricia Morison, Eugene Pallette, Leif Erickson, Charles Dingle ana a nan dozen other laugh ex pens. "Are Husbands Necessary?" was made from the best-seller novel, "Mr. and Mrs. Cugat," by Isabel Scott Rorick. Ray and Betty, as might be guessed, play the Cugats, with seductive Pat Morison as the "other woman" who does her best to break up a appy lamny, and then elopes mn a millionaire. The Cugats are a happy pair. addicted to "whiffling" which Webster defines as the telling of little white lies. Ray, an up-and-coming young banker, isn't feeling so good and stays home from the office one day. Betty promptly "whiffles" his sniffles into double-pneumonia, no less.
