Holly Bill Today
A band of murderers, hyp
notically controlled by a mind
miles away, provides excitement
in a new type of Hollywood
mystery in "Fingers at the
Window," with Lew Ayres, La
raine Day and Basil Rathbone,
opening a three-day run today
at the Holly theatre.
The story opens with an epi
demic of axe murders in Chi
cago, committed by lunatics
who, when apprehended, re
member nothing. Ayres enacts
a young actor who turns ama
teur detective when the mur
derers menace Miss Day, playing
a night club dancer.
Despite police opposition he
works on the theory that a
single mind with a purpose is
directing the killings, and by
shrewd deduction he finds the
key to the mystery amid at
tempts to murder him by insulin
shock, by throwing him before
an oncoming elevated train for
a simulated accident, and finally
in a battle for life at the dra
matic climax.
"Rubber Racketeers," a new
and daring expose of the crooks
who are trying to undermine
the defense of our country by
two-timing on rubber, plays as
the companion feature. Ricardo
Cortez stars.
