Amid Impressive ceremonies and demonstrations of military training and maneuvers, Ameri ca's 91st Infantry Division un der command of Major General Charles H. Gerhardt, will be re activated in a gigantic army show at Camp White Saturday morning, August 15. Before the eyes of an ex pected 10,000 civilians, the battle-torn colors of the fightinff 91st of World War I will be pre sented to this reorganized divi sion of the same name, whose men may someday create for themselves a World War II rec ord equal to that made by their predecessors. Public Invited Invited to attend the activa tion ceremonies are all member of the original 91st division or ganizations, all ex-servicemen and the general public. There will be no charge, and special seating accommodations are be ing constructed for the huge throng expected. The ceremonial program will be held from 10 a. m. to noon. Starting at 8 a. m. all who de sire will be taken on army con ducted tours of the vast military reservation to view exhibits and inspect the living, recreational and training facilities of Camp White. As this will probably be the last time civilians will be al lowed in certain parts of tha camp, all persons In southern Oregon are urged to take advan tage of the opportunity to see the "inside" of an army base of thli type. All business establishments in the city, with the exception of rood markets, have been asked by the Jackson County Cham ber of Commerce, to remain closed Saturday morning and up to 1 p. m. to allow employes to attend the ceremonial. Under direction of the Salvation Army doughnuts and coffee will be served to the thousands of vis itors. Demonstrations Slated Demonstrations of military training on the program will in clude calisthenics by the 361st Infantry Regiment, jiu-jitsu and disarming scrimmage by the 362nd Infantry Regiment, anti tank maneuvers by the 363rd Infantry Regiment, wall-scaling by the 362nd Infantry Regiment, dismounted drill by the 363rd Infantry Regiment and a silent drill demonstration by platoon of officers. Special honor to the four men of the original 91st division, who were awarded the Congression al Medal of Honor In the first world war, will be accorded during the ceremony. The men are Major Oscar F. Miller of Los Angeles, who was killed In the Argonne offensive; Philip C. Katz of San Francisco and Lloyd M Seibert of Salinas. Calif., and Chester H West of Idaho Falls. Idaho, Te Dedicate Tree The ceremony will also In clude dedications of the 91st di vision fir tree, the Insignia of the old 91st which has been re tained by the new 91st; roll call cf the cattle dead of the old 91st, presentation of the old 91st colors to the new 91st and the speech of acceptance by Major General Gerhardt. On exhibit at the "open house" will be guns and equipment of 346th, 347th,348th and B16th bat talions ot the 91st division ar tillery weapons and equipment if the St 6th Medical Battalion, 416th Quartermaster Battalion and the 91st division Signal company, and arms and equip ment of the division's two other units, the 91st Reconnaissance Troops and the 136th Engineer Battalion. Under the chairmanship of Brigadier General E. S. Ott. di vision artillery commander, 91st veterans of the first world con flict will stage a stirring pro gram. Including the presentation ot their colors to the new 91st. At noon, the 91st veterans will be guests at a mess wltb the units with which they served in 1917-1919. 1
