Mower Gone Earl Owlngs of 335 West Second street reported to city police yesterday that his lawnmower which had been left In his woodshed, was missing. Appear in Court Fred Smith paid 55 fine in the city police court today for failure to stop at a stop street. Douglas Marion Gaylor was sentenced to five days in the city jail for being drunk in a public street. Chan cey Harold Fuirland, charged with being drunk in a public street forfeited $10 bail and Bert Talmadge Christon was floated out of Medford on a similar charge. Local Caller J. A. Ormandy, general passenger agent for Southern Pacific company with headquarters in Portland, was a business visitor in this city Wed nesday. Local Visitor Jim Nutter, publicity manager for United Air Lines from Seattle, is spend ing several days in southern Oregon on business. He planned visits to Ashland and Klamath Falls as well as this city. Drama Meeting All who are interested in drama, acting, writing or directing are asked to meet at 7:30 o'clock tonight at the Girls' Community club house, 229 North Bartlett street. Mrs. Ed Kelly, drama chairman for USO, will be in charge of the meeting. Assigned Second Lieutenant Raymond H. Dougherty, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Dougherty of 136 Vancouver avenue, was re cently assigned to duty at the Lincoln air base, Lincoln, Neb., according to word received from the base. A graduate of Oregon State college, Lieut. Dougherty was a technical forester before entering the army. To West Virginia John Col lins, who recently received his master of science degree from Massachusetts Institute of Tech nology left Wednesday for Charleston, West Virginia where he has accepted a position with the Union Carbide and Carbon company in one of their defense plants. Collins is the sou of Mrs. Grace Collins, 1810 East Main street. Violators Sentenced M. D. Trasham forfeited $S bail in city police court yesterday for failure to stop at a stop light. William B. Forrester was fined $10 for violation of the basic rule and Melvin F. Brewster was given a $10 suspended fine for failure to give right of way. John Earl Payne, charged with being dnink in a public street, was fined $10. At Kincaid Home Mr. and Mrs. Frank S. Logg of Holly wood, Cal., visited recently at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred erick M. Kincaid at Butte Falls. Also recent visitors were Pri vate Wendell Kincaid now sta tioned at Stockton Field Air Base at Stockton, Cal., who vis ited his parents Mr. and Mrs Kincaid on a short furlough. Mrs. Vernon Walter and daugh ters, Margie and Joanna of Glendale, Cal., were also guests at the Kincaid home. Guns Stolen Martin Ma gar. who resides on the old P. and E. grounds near Bear Creek, re ported to city police yesterday that someone had stolen a Win chester shotgun, a .22 rifle and a brown leather handbag from his residence. Picnic Planned The annual Oklahoma picnic and basket dinner will be held at the Signal Service station at Rogue River Sunday, July 12. Coffee and cream will be furnished and those attending are asked to bring their own sugar and bas ket lunch. The picnic begins at 11 a. m., with Floyd K. Dover as guest speaker. Annual Picnic C. A. Meek er's Sunday school class of the First Methodist church will hold its annual picnic on the lawn at the Meeker residence, 724 Jack son boulevard Monday at 6:30 p. m. Class members, Sunday school teachers and families are invited and asked to bring own table service, card table, salad or cake. Ed Cachelin and Claude W. Wright, Route 2, box 38 were drivers of automobiles which collided at the intersection of Park street and the Pacific highway in Grants Pass Wednesday at 2:30 p. m. according to a report filed here.
