Mr. McAllister was graduated from Gresham high school and received bis law degree from Wllllamette university. He was born In Portland, la 38 years old. married and th father of two children, and has practiced law In Medford since 1931. He Is a member of the Elks and Masonic lodges and of the Pres byterian church. Four Local Youths Advance In Army's Air Corps Training Three Medford youths and on from Talent were among the aviation cadets graduating from th air corps basic flying school at Mlnter Field, Califor nia, last, week, according to a news release received from the field. The cadets include Martin Luther, Talent, and Fielding K Weatherford, 908 North Central avenue; Lester W. Shepherd, 608 Clark street, and Robert D Olson, 825 Bennett avenue, Medford. . Having completed this rigor ous phase of training, the four will now proceed to an ad vanced school where the polish ing process will take place. After 10 weeks of advanced training they will be commis sioned as second lieutenants in the army air corps and ready for combat duty. Barnes and Schuler Cars In Minor Crash Automobiles driven by J. CHINA HERB CO 835 E. Main 8L Msdlord Civilian Defense Activities A supply of Civilian Defense First Aid handbooks have been received by the Jackson County Civilian Defense council. These do not take the place of the Standard Red Cross textbook but are to be used as supple mentary material for those en listed in civilian defense who have completed Red Cross first aid training. Anyone registered in civilian defense who presents a Red Cross first aid certificate will be given a handbook free of charge at the Chamber of Commerce. First Aid Class A first aid class will start at Junior high school, room No. 41 next Monday Classes will be held each Monday and Wednes day from 7 p. m. to 10 p. m. This is a standard and advanced course, limited entirely to those enrolled in the Red Cross motor corps. Miss Marjorie Kelly will be Instructor, rirst Aid Class A new first aid class will be AS Rolland N. Rlnabarger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ellie Rina barger of 841 E. Ninth street, recently waa appointed naval I y Rolland Rlnabarger aviation cadet and was trans ferred to the naval air station at Pensacola, Fla., for flight training, according to an an nouncement by the public rela tions office of that station. Rlnabarger, who attended Oregon State university for more than two years, waa sent to the naval reserve aviation base at Seattle, Wash., where he successfully passed the elimina tion training course In January. He entered in November. Upon completion of the Inten sive seven-month course at the Annapolis of the Air," Rina barger will receive his designs tion as a naval aviator with a commission as ensign In the naval reserve or as a second lieutenant in the marine corps reserve and will go on active duty. All churches, service clubs, fratern al orders and other groups are urged to give recognition to the need for aid to China and to des ignate solicitors to assist In this work. Following la Mayor Deuel t proclamation: "Whereas, the governors pi many of our forty-eight states and the mayors of many of our leading cities are Joining in pro claiming the need for community cooperation in soliciting funds for the relief of Chinese refugees who have suffered the loss of all material effects, have been driv er from their homes, and are In need of food, clothing and medic al aid, and "Whereas, the people of China are our allies In the battle for the democratic way of life, and "Whereas, the morale of the Chinese nation can be strength ened by the voluntary assistance of the American people through the campaign conducted by the United China Relief Organlra tlon "I, H. 8. Deuel, mayor of the city of Medford, do hereby pro claim the week of March 22nd to 28th as United China Relief Week and do nereby call upon the people of Medford to assist the refugees of China to the ut most of their respective abili ties.
