Schritt, neither of whose address was listed, were involved in a minor mishap at McAndrews road and North Central avenue this morning, o report on file said. Improving Chester H. Wendt of the Old Stage road, who Is confined to Sacred Heart hos pital with a fractured left leg. is reported to be improving and able to have friends call. Mr. Wendt fractured his leg in a tractor accident on his farm last week. Visits Pred Fairchild of Oga lala. Neb., who Is visiting friends in Ashland, called at the E. D. Scripter home, 60 Rose avenue, last evening. This was the first time in 23 years that he had seen Mr. and Mrs. Scripter, who were schoolmates of his in Ne braska. Visiting Mother Walter Clem ents arrived Sunday for a visit with his mother, Mrs. W. C. Clements of Katherine Court. He was graduated recently from the Ryan aviation school in San Diego, Cal., as master mechanic. He was graduated from St. Mary'a academy In this city and was once employed on the Mail Tribune. He plans to remain in Medford until the first of the year. Heavy Yule Mailing Indicated Kere Says Postmaster DeSsuza 'It looks like a season of early and heavy mailing of Christmas packages," Postmast er Frank DeSouza commented today after checking with the clerks on business on the first day of December. "We had quite a tidy volume of Christmas parcels yesterday," Mr. DeSouza said, "and this early mailing Is encouraging. If we get the packages in time, we can handle them a lot better than in a last-minute rush." Letters to Santa Claus are arriving in increasing numbers, Mr. DeSouza said. Rainfall was general through out the valley and was accom panied by a wind which weather bureau reported as a little out of the ordinary for Medford and vicinity. Rain from 4:30 a m. yesterday to 4:30 a. m. this morning totaled .40 Inches. La ter precipitation figures were not available due to telephone disorders but indications were for continued rain during the day. Occasional rain was fore cast for Wednesday with cooler weather.
