R. Nyi " waner of Talent, and Stephen N. Wolcken, son of Mrs. Jane wolcken of San Antonio. Tex, .' Dr. Sherman L. Divine read the service. The bride was given tn mar riage by her father. She wore - a costume suit of ginger rust . trimmed with mink with a soft . brown sweetheart hat with veil t and matching brown accessor- - ies. Her corsage was of green . orchids and bovardia. Mrs. R. J. Simpson of North - Bend, formerly of this city, was matron of honor. She also wore : a costume suit of aqua-green trimmed with squirrel. Her hat - and accessories were black and -' fuschia and she wore a corsage - of fuschlas and fuschia colored . gladioli. Best man was A. R. Leavitt. '. R. J. Simpson of North Bend and R. R. Hammond were . ushers. ' ' Preceding the ceremony Into ; gene Smith sang "Because" and , "At Dawning" accompanied at . the organ by Mrs. Verl Failing who also played the wedding music. A reception followed a t Hotel Medford. Large baskets of gladioli in fall colors and bouquets of Fugii chrysanthe- - mums decorated the lounge. - Pouring and assisting about the room were Mrs. Frank Perl, . Mrs. R. R. Hammond and Mrs . Glenn Fabrlcks. Out-of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Koozer of Ash land; Mr. and Mrs. Hoaglana and daughter of Klamath Falls - and Dell Simpson of North -Bend. . The couple left Immediately - after the reception on a wed ding trip to San Antonio, Tex. - They plan to make their home . at 2122 Lakcshore avenue, Oak land, Cat., after October 20. Mrs. Wolcken was the inspir ation for many parties and showers prior to her marriage. " Among those entertaining at pre-nuptlal affairs were Mrs. Mrs. George Robertson, Mrs. Kenneth Parrett and Mrs. Ice land Clark, who gave a bridgo luncheon and shower at Rogue River lodge at which the bride received a set of crystal. Mrs. Frank Perl entertained with dessert and miscellaneous shower and Mrs. Bnice Bauer and Mrs. Warren Olscn also en talned In her honor with a din ner party. Miller-Stroup Betrothal Told At Larsen Home Announcement of the be trothal of Opal Miller, daugh ter of Mrs. Andy Larsen, to Walter D. Stroup was made last week when Mrs. Larsen enter tained members of the Thir teenth club at her home. The wedding will be an event of November 27. The table was decorated with autumn flowers. The affair also honored the birthday of Mrs Marie Sipes who received gifts from "those attending. Present were Mary E. Ted rick. Winifred Owens, Betty Barber, Marie Sipcs, Thelma Willarding, Florence Branson, Mrs. Ramie. Ruby Romaine. Frances Bentley, Opal Miller, Susie Johnsburg and the host ess. Club members will be enter tained October 15 at the home of Susie Johnsburg. Dodson of Central Point to William Crawford of Medford, Monday, September 22. Mrs. Crawford is employed at California Oregon Power com pany in this city and Mr. Craw ford sailed recently from San Francisco for Midway Islands where he is employed in defense work. The service was read by the Rev. Werner Jessen. pastor of the English Lutheran churcn, in the presence of members of the immediate families. Mrs. Werner Jessen sang, "I Love You Truly" and played Tne tra ditional wedding music. The bride chose a blue, tail ored suit with a powder blue blouse and a corsage of gar denias for her wedding outfit. She was attended by her sister-in-law. Mrs. Lew Gilman Lew Gilman was best man. An informal reception follow ed the ceremony. The three tiered wedding cake was cut by the bride. Crimson geraniums decorated the wedding table. Out-of-town guests present for the affair were Mrs. Laura Clark of Redding, Cal., and Mrs. Norman Chausee of Murphy, both sisters of the bride. The couple left for a fishing and hunting trip on the Rogue river and upon their return will take up residence in their new home on the old Pacific high way. Shower Honors Mrs. Milne At Huber Home Mrs. Richard Huber and Mrs. Earl Wisner entertained a group of friends at the Huber home Thursday evening with a shower honoring Mrs. Ed Milne. Dessert was served followed by an eve-1 ning of bridge and Chinese checkers. Prizes were awarded to Mrs. O. R. Fritz, Mrs. Orin I Brown and Mrs. Harlan Wiley. No. 3, O.E.S., Jacksonville joined in celebra tion of the sliver wedding anni versary of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Todd at the close of the session Thursday evening in the Masonic hall. ' Members gathered In the din ing hall where silver bells and lighted white tapers decorated the table. Mrs. Fay Peters, worthy matron of Adarel chap ter, presented Mr. and Mrs. Todd with a silver tray, a gift from the chapter. Mrs. Todd cut the wedding cake. Later Mr. and Mrs. Todd told of their recent visit to their old home in Los Angeles. During the session Miss Ruth Winn and Miss Florence Winn were taken into Adarel chapter, their mother, Mrs. Mae Winn al ready being an active member of the Jacksonville O.E.S. lodge. Adele Henne Weds Paul Cook In Reno, Nev. Of interest to Medford resi dents is announcement of the marriage of Miss Adele Henne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Max Henne and Paul Cook at Reno, Nev., September 1. Mrs. Cook is well-known in this city, having visited her father, station manager for United Air Lines at the Med ford airport, here on several oc casions when the family ya cationed in Medford from their home in Oakland, Cal. The young couple will make their home in East Oakland where Mr. Cook is stationed with the coast guard. Social Hour To Follow Meeting Chrysanthemum circle, No. 84, N. O. W. will meet at K. of P. hall Wednesday at 7:30 p. m. for regular meeting. A social hour of cards will follow the business session for members of the Ashland, Phoenix and Med ford groups.
