Miss Eileen Dick played the traditional wed- ami music and Mrs. Madge Stlehl sang, "Always and "My Savior and Shepherd." The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attired In an afternoon dress of promenade blue with golden tobacco acces sories. Weds At Parent's Home Clenna Minear, Charles Thompson Wedded, Aug. 24 Miss Glenna Minear, daughter of Mrs. Jessie M. Minear of this city and Charles H. Thompson, Jr., of Washington, D. C, were married last Sunday at 3 p. m. t the home of the bride's moth er. Immediate relatives of the bride were present for the cere mony. The bride wore a basque styled wedding gown of white marquisette trimmed with lace with a shoulder length veil. She carried a bouauet of lllie nH pin roses. Miss Bradlev Thnmn... Washington, D. C, sister of the groom, attended the bride. She wore pink net floor-length gown trimmed with blue ribbon and carried a bouquet of pink roses and blue delphinium. Following the wedding an In formal reception honored the wedding party. The service table was centered with a bouquet of white gladioli and on either side were lighted white tapers. The wedding cake was cut by the bride. The couple left on a wedding trip to San Francisco and Colo rado Springs, Colo., and will re turn to Washington, D. C, where they will make their home. Mrs. Thompson Is a graduate of Medford high school and Med ford Business college and for the past year has been the national capital in a civil ervice position in the navy de partment. Mr. Thompson is asso ciated with the Potomac Electric Power company in Washington, D. C. Out-of-town guests attending the wedding were Miss Thomp son of Washington, D. Local Visitor Returns South Laura Westerbeck of Holly wood, Cal., left last night by train for California after a two weeks visit at the home of Miss Isabel Stuart and Mrs. R. I. Mrs. Stuart is the grand mother of Mrs. Davis and Miss Stuart is her aunt. Miss Margaret Hope Coan, daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. John Byron Coan of Bend and Thomas Terjeson of Camas, Wash., were married Monday at 1 p. m. at the First Methodist church in Bend with the bride's father reading tha ring service in the presence of a large gath ering of friends and members of the congregation. The bride wore white satin, cut princess style, long train and wore a full train length veil caught in place with a coronet of seed pearls. She wore a four- strand necklace of pearls. The bride's bouquet was a spray of white gladioli, pale blue del phiniums, bouvardia and baby pink rosebuds. Attending the bride was Miss Helen Chirgwin, of this city, as maid of honor who wore peri winkle blue marquisette with a shoulder length veil to match. Bridesmaids were Miss Ann Ter- ijeson of Pendleton and Miss Delma Jean Klassen of Salem, wearing pink embossed organdy with shoulder length veils. They carried sprays of maroon asters and bouvardia and their veils were held in place with match ing asters. Best man was Olaf Terjeson, of Portland, brother of the groom. Organ music preceded the wedding and during the ceremony incidental music was played with several vocal selec tions. A reception followed in the church parlor where wed ding cake and punch were served. Later the couple left for a trip which was to include Ore gon and Washington points of interest and later to Camas, Wash., where they will make their home. Mr. Terjeson Is a member of the high school fac ulty in Camas. Mrs. Terjeson'i father, the Rev. J. B. Coan, is former pastor of the Southern Metho dist church in this city a num ber of years ago. Pistors Visit At Barnes Home Among visitors in the valley tnis past week were Dr. and Mrs. W'illiam J. Pistor and son, Michael, of Tucson, Ariz. Dr. Pistor is the brother of Mrs. Ernest L. Barnes of East Main street and Barneburg road. During their stay here they were guests at the Barnes home. Both Dr. and Mrs. Pistor have visited here several times dur ing the summers and have many friends in the valley. Bernies Gill Hera From New York Miss Bernice Gill, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John S. Gill, 122 Cottage street, and her friend. Miss Anne Gidley of West Point, N. Y., arrived Thurs day by motor for a short visit at the Gill home. They planned to leave this week-end for Cali fornia. This is Miss Gill'i first visit home in a year. Rev. Edward J. Machle of San Anselmo, Cal., gave an Interest ing talk on China at the Worn, en'i Missionary society of tha First Presbyterian church re cently at the home of Mrs. B. R, Elliott, Ross Lane. Born in China where hit par. ents were missionaries. Rev. Machle told of changes In Chi. nese home life, economic status, class distinctions and what brought about the changes. He pointed out how western coun tries are Influencing China aW! its people, both favorably and unfavorably. He said that young people of China are often influ enced by U. S. motion pictures, some of which ara misleading in their portrayal of American mode of life. He closed with the thought, "What kind of a picture does a Christian make in the eyes of a country whose background is not Christian?" Rev. Machle ex. hibited tapestries and keepsakes which were presented to hira when he left China. During the business session plans were formulated for the annual luncheon to be held Sept, 16 with Mrs. Barney Morgan of Santa Domingo as guest speaker. Mrs. Chet Guches and Mrs. Wayne Carter assisted Mrs. Elliott. Mrs. Lenox f Visits Here Mrs. Emma burg arrived in Medford Thurs day for a short visit with her sons and daughters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Lenox. 819 Kh. man street and Mr. and at...
