Jsnouch Back Karl L. Jan ouch this morning resumed his duties as supervisor of Rogue River national forest after at tending a range management training school at Seneca. For est supervisors and staff offi cers attended the school. Visit Ends Mr. and Mrs. Lelan Davis of Los Angeles, who have been visiting at the home of Mrs. J. H. Butler, 916 East Main street, left today for Diamond lake and Buckhorn lodge. Mr. Davis, a former mem ber of the Medford fire depart ment, is Mrs. Butler's nephew. On Trip East Mrs. Bel F. Richardson, 33 North Peach street, left yesterday for a month's visit with relatives In Kansas and Iowa. She is trav elling by car with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Richardson, who are re turning to their home In Lar ned, Kas. To Tour Mrs. Clara Tilley and daughter Marian, 11 IS West 10th street, are planning to leave Sunday morning by bus on a two months' tour to New York where they will visit rel atives. They will travel east by way of Portland. They plan stops at Sioux City, Iowa, De troit, Mich., St. Louis, Mo., and other points of interest. Conditions Poor Conditions In forest areas for recreational pursuits over the week-end were unfavorable today. Rogue River national forest headquarters said in again omitting the usual weekly recreation bulletin. Roads to forest lakes and streams and camping areas are in bad condition because of late serine rains, headauarters ! stated. Campgrounds, it was added, were damp. On Survey A crew of four state game commission em ployes today began a study at Lake of the Woods to determine the number and kind of fish the lake can best support. A similar study will be made at Fish and Fourmile lakes, both In the same general area. The crew will make soundings of the lake, prepare a contour map and conduct other studies to be used as a basis in a re-stocklng program. Work at the three lakes is expected to take a month. Sample of 108 South Oakdale avenue, drove cars involved in a minor acci dent on North Riverside ave nue near East Jackson boule vard last evening, a report on file said today. Male Flight Though now residing in Ashland, R. A. Forbes, former president of the Crater Flying club here, is still a frequent visitor at Medford' municipal airport. Last Sunday Mr. Forbes, accompanied by Mrs. Forbes, flew a Piper Cub plane to Portland. The couple, enjoyed luncheon and a show in Portland and then returned to Medford, arriving here about 5 p. m. In Jail Her Capron L. Ball. 16, Klamath Indian of Chilo quin, charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, was brought from Klamath Falls last night by Paul Hanlin. U. S. deputy marshal, and placed in the county jail here pend ing further action in the case. Ball is accused of assaulting Ivan O'Neil, also a Klamath In dian of Chiloquin, with a knife last May 29. Ball's brother Jos eph, is serving a life sentence for murder. He pleaded guilty in federal court here in the spring of 1938 to a charge of second degree murder. He was then 24 years old. Plan Passengers Miss Pat ricia Dippel departed on the noon United Mainliner today for Portland. Arriving on the same plane were Mrs. G. Gage, from Los Angeles. Ar rivals on the forenoon plane were Mrs. Robert Coulter, from Seattle, Wn., and A. E. Stephan, from Portland. Departing on the early morning plane were Mr. and Mrs. D. Jameson, W. Thigpen and Thomas C. Blanchard, all to Portland. Ar riving last evening were Eino Hemmila, from Portland, and H. V. Simpson, from Vancouver, B. C. Departing on the same plane was Harold Wood, to San rrancisco. J. n. HP The agriculture department an nounced today a schedule of rates said to average about 98 cents a bushel at which it would make loans to farmers on this year's wheat crop. Rates kt the terminals were higher than those which would prevail elsewhere. The schedule for the term inals includes: Portland, Ore. No. 1 soft white. No. 1 western white. No. l hard winter. No. 1 white club, No. 1 red winter. No. 1 western red, and No. 1 northern spring, all $1.03, and No. 1 mixed $1 02.
