To Tour Mrs. Clara Tilley
and daughter Marian, 11 IS West

leave Sunday morning by bus
on a two months' tour to New
York where they will visit rel
atives. They will travel east by
way of Portland. They plan
stops at Sioux City, Iowa, De
troit, Mich., St. Louis, Mo., and
other points of interest.
Conditions Poor Conditions
In forest areas for recreational
pursuits over the week-end were
unfavorable today. Rogue River
national forest headquarters
said in again omitting the usual
weekly recreation bulletin.
Roads to forest lakes and
streams and camping areas are
in bad condition because of late

On Survey A crew of four
state game commission em
ployes today began a study at
Lake of the Woods to determine
the number and kind of fish
the lake can best support. A
similar study will be made at
Fish and Fourmile lakes, both
In the same general area. The
crew will make soundings of
the lake, prepare a contour map
and conduct other studies to be
used as a basis in a re-stocklng
program. Work at the three
lakes is expected to take a
month.

in Portland and then returned
to Medford, arriving here about
5 p. m.

16, Klamath Indian of Chilo
quin, charged with assault with
a dangerous weapon, was
brought from Klamath Falls
last night by Paul Hanlin. U.
S. deputy marshal, and placed
in the county jail here pend
ing further action in the case.
Ball is accused of assaulting
Ivan O'Neil, also a Klamath In
dian of Chiloquin, with a knife
last May 29. Ball's brother Jos
eph, is serving a life sentence
for murder. He pleaded guilty
in federal court here in the
spring of 1938 to a charge of
second degree murder. He was
then 24 years old.
